How to pronounce Pilatus?

Yes, yes it does.

Carries as much as a KA 200 on less fuel and only about 10-15 knots slower.

Lot of companies ditching the KA and going with the PC12.

And I have always pronounced it, PIE lattuce, but I grew up in Texas....

Are they running into any pushback from pax or management about the "single engine"?

I agree except the "u" in "tus"probably sounds more like oo in boot instead of the u in up. Of course, many German speaking companies just give up and accept the Americanization of their brand names. For example, Löwenbrau (Lowenbrow) beer should be pronounced Lurvenbroy.

Nein. The "au" is pronounced "ow", like "hour". "Eu" is pronounce "oy", like boy.

I say Pie lat tus. I was just in Switzerland and was on top of Mt Pilatus, beautiful place, a must see in my opinion. On the boat ride over to the mountain I saw a Pilatus PC-12 slowly doing large loops partly over the lake. My wife made fun of me for snapping a picture.

You want fun? Ask a New Yorker how to pronounce "Houston."

Not really. Every New Yorker with more than a dozen working synapses know it is House-ton Street in the City and Hyuse-ton TX.

I try not to hang out with the "less than a dozen working synapses" crowd....

Nope. He's right, though he left the umlaut off. Äu is also pronounced "oy."
He's wrong, leaving the umlaut off. I'm correct, as written.

Nothing that I have heard of. The bean counters love the PC12 because it not as expensive to operate as a King Air 200.

PC12 is the best airplane I've ever flown.

OK, first thing: Don't ask the Swiss how to pronounce it. They can't even decide what language they speak in their own country. It's worse than Quebec. When they talk, everyone hates them.
Secondly, they are all foreigners, so they don't talk real talk. Not like we do here.
Third: If you have to ask, you can't pronounce it anyway, no matter how many times they repeat it.
Fourth: You can't afford one, so why bother wasting your time on it?

We like to say Pill-att-eee-puss

I say "Pilot-us."

e.g. "Marge, I can't figure out how to fly the durn thing, maybe we can get that feller over there to pilot us."

When I was there, the guys I worked with called it "pee-lah-tous."
As an interesting sidenote, the Pilatus factory was Goldfinger's factory (where he melted down the car) in the old James Bond movie.
