How Are We Going To Carry the New iPhone?!?

I seriously hope Apple continues to make smaller phones and doesn't just jump on the usual American ideal of bigger is better. I have zero interest in a "phablet". I don't get it. Want a bigger screen for surfing the net? Use your tablet. Maybe Apple should beat them all to the eventual conclusion and stick a phone on the full size iPad.

I imagine that clothing designers will respond by making more clothes with gigantic pockets, just like the urban hip hop clothing designers have been doing for years. All that hardware in our pockets will also naturally make our pants sag, just like urban inner city hipsters.

This is the natural, eventual outcome of "phablet" users-

Q - How are we going to carry the new iPhone?

A - The same way Samsung Galaxy Note users like myself have been, since 2012. In a pocket, with a case/holster combo, or in a nice vehicle mount.

I missed the details, but there is apparently a new multitouch gesture that slides the screen down in such a way as to make one-handed usage more practical.

Have to wait and see how elegant that solution is, or isn't.

I believe it's a double-tap on the home button - Not a double press, a double tap (which is picked up by the capacitive fingerprint sensor, since you're not actually pressing the button). The video cut out during that portion of the introduction so I'm not sure how it really looks or works.

Meh... To me, what makes the iPhone valuable is that it has all that functionality in a size that's convenient enough to have around WITHOUT any sort of special hardware to mount it in my vehicle or on me - It easily slides into any pocket. I use it for a lot more things even than my iPad Mini because it's just always there no matter what. The bigger something is, the more likely I'm going to leave it behind somewhere, and thus be without it when I want it.

I'll likely visit the Apple store some time within the next couple of weeks to see how easily (or not) the new iPhones slide into various pockets and how much space they take up. If so much as a corner sticks out of my pocket, I'm out on the 6+, as that very problem lead to me breaking an iPad Mini damn near in half. I'm probably not going to buy either the 6 or 6+ anyway, but I hope they offer a smaller option next year.

Hello, if you want a smaller iPhone, we already have the iPhone 4, 4S, 5, 5S, and 5C. My brother does not wish to upgrade to the 6 or 6 Plus. He chose the iPhone 4S over other competitors specifically since the iPhone 4S is smaller than the other competitors.

I already have a 5 but I was thinking about the future.

I still have the 4, and as long as it keeps working, I will keep using it. I'm not much of a gadget person and don't have to always have someone else's idea of the latest and greatest, so the little case I have now should keep working just fine :).

The last and only iPhone I had (actually still in my bag, bricked lol) was a 3Gs. I have an iPad2 32GB that is getting a bit long in the tooth, and I just filled the memory. I need a different entertainment pad, one that I can expand the memory with chips so I can have a movie library without having out the full size laptop.

I'll probably keep this as an aviation/navigation unit and use something else, probably Android, for daily tablet use. I'm sorry to say that I have tried Apple products along the way, I wanted to like them, I really did, but they have unforgivable compatibility and useability issues every time, and I see no different in the current offerings.

I don't need to be protected from myself, if I want to tell my machine to self destruct I expect to be allowed. I don't appreciate being barred a quarter of the content I try to get to or even that is being displayed on a web page where I need the information I'm being denied. Apple has never failed to disappoint me in their user interface design. I'm not an idiot and don't appreciate being treated as one.

Watching the iPhone crowd is funny.

"How we gonna carry it?!?! It's too big!!!"

Jeez folks, get a grip. It's a phone and that size didn't just come out last week. It came out last week from ONE manufacturer...

Get a man purse. :D welcome to my world! Women's pants don't fit a lot of things.

Pretty sure it will fit my normal pants pockets.
