Hot dog......ketchup

 It should be in its own food group!!!

I always order pizza with "extra sauce". That way it doesn't dry out as quickly overnight and still is mighty tasty the following morning!

See, the drying out of the sauce to a paste is one of the things I think makes it better in morning.

I never order any take-out or delivery food with "extra sauce" - YMMV

Almost anything but catsup.
Mustard of almost any variety, onions, chili, sauerkraut, cheese is all good.

Catsup goes on the French Fries, or "maybe" the hamburger, but not the hot dog.

+1.....

Hot dogs are good two ways: lots of chili and some cheese, or Chicago style. They are edible with ketchup (NOT Heinz!) and spicy mustard.

Save the mayo for ham sandwiches, not hamburgers or hot dogs . . .

everything is better cooked on the grill.

FTFY...:D and that is exactly what a TJ street dog is.;)

I'm good with that. "Pork fat rules!"

Yep, and one you have crispy bacon wrapped around it, then mayo comes into play especially with some onions and hot sauce from the taco cart next door...mmmm...bacon.... Damn, need to make a trip to TJ now....

mayo and food cart are not acceptable answers...

Doesn't matter at all so long as the dog has some of the yummy sauerkraut made in the kitchens of Steinholme.
Wait, do you eat hot dogs? Or maybe you are eating the sauerkraut alone. :D

I'll eat a hot dog from time to time but do not like ketchup or yellow mustard. Brown mustard is OK and I do like sauerkraut as long as it's not too sweet.

You never had a vegan hot dog? Actually it's about the only thing in the Veganmeat category I think gets done pretty well, and about the best use of bean paste I have seen.

No....

Not really inspired to have one either. I tend to not like things which are processed into other things in an effort to be "healthier". For example I like tofu in asian food but not reprocessed into fake ground "meat".

Tangent: I like lots of vegetarian dishes, particularly Middle East- and Mediterranean-inspired. But I am singularly unimpressed by the myriad attempts to coax TVP into "fake" meats. If anyone has their reasons to not eat meat, what is the benefit of faking it?

They aren't really, at least not the ones I had, but the chef did make them fresh for a vegan charter party. Is just a matter of seasoning and the right amount of fat with the beans and running it into a casing to put on the grill, I think he may have used some tofu in there as a binder. I was surprised at how good they were. Hot dogs are just filled with a seasoned protein mush just the same. They beat Turkey Dogs...

I just had a hotdog on a bun with mustard and shredded cheese. Second dog, no bun with melted shredded cheese and mustard. It was a feast for a king, but since there were no kings in the area I ate it.

Nathans for only 2.99?? Never ever see them for less than $6 here in El Paso!!! But they're worth it!!

Back to the meat of the issue... Sausage > Hot dog anyways. And dijon mustard is where it's at. With relish and onion, of course.

Oh I love their commercials. By the way, everybody here is an ass. After seeing this thread a bit more, I'm incredibly tempted to drive to Costco to get a cheap hotdog. That and their mustard doesn't suck. And I don't have any of the stuff here... my fridge is basically nothing but beer at the moment

Anywhere else in the world:
Catsup, Mustard, Sweet Relish, Chopped Onions.

In Chicago:
"Chicago" Style on a poppy seed bun, sans the hot pepper.

I'm sure it has. Probably not for the better. Haven't those things been deep fried once already?
No clue... But it brings out the flavors in the crust so much! I'm convinced if eating it makes me happy, it's good for me. Fried everything at rodeos are the best things ever!

I'll eat 'em just about any way, but if I build my own, it's weiner, bun, cheese, and ketchup. And don't forget the Cheetos.
