Yep, Ruskies build their aircraft like tanks. Very simple, cheap, purpose built while ours we build light and throw a bunch of fluff in them.

Yep, I got to check out a few Russian helicopters, I was amazed how thick some of the metal was. And watching some of those guys fly them, it doesn't look like they give up much in the way of performance.
