Hey TV Nerds, How do I update Netflix?

My wife tells me I find the worst movies on netflix. I tell her I am sure I can find worse

For those that have Amazon Prime and Netflix, what does Amazon gain you that Netflix does not?

:rofl::rofl: The movie selection on Netflix is slim for good movies. Movies that I want to keep I typically buy through iTunes, is there a better method that will allow me to store and access the movies on my laptop and/or iPad with zero connectivity to the Internet? I haven't bought a lot and they weren't unreasonably priced so I haven't really explored any other options.

For viewing I actually find most of my content on YouTube. There are lecture series that universities put out there with the leaders in their fields you can access for free that other people are paying thousands of dollars in tuition to get.

As long as you aren't in need of the degree, you can get a $100,000 education for free. And unlike plane crash videos, the comments are good.

Oh, is there any way that I can store a video from YouTube on my laptop?

For one, free second-day shipping on many items bought from Amazon. That alone is probably worth it for me.

There are some things on each service that are different - likewise Hulu.

I watch a fair amount of sports - the one thing that keeps me from dumping the dish is the home blackouts of sporting events on streaming services. That needs to go as I waste a lot of money for stuff I don't watch.....

Netflix streaming library is a little slim. They are limited by a lot of licensing agreements. Their DVD selection is pretty good, though.
