if I joined the SZ I'd probably hate most of you. so I didn't, and therefore I mostly like some of you. I personally didn't have any issues with henning but I don't know what happened in this situation.

He had many strong opinions on almost any subject ,did enjoy reading most of his posts. He could be entertaining at times. Wanted to see him get to 0 posts

I joined the spin zone, but frankly it bores me. It's kind of like listening to NPR and Rush Limbaugh at the same time.

The baggage just got too high. Drowned out the small, few nuggets of utility.

Kind of like me, on steroids.

Henning is free to continue to contribute on this website whenever he would like and has been able to do so for some time. If at this point he does not return, that's not the management council causing that, it's the result of his own decision not to return.

I can't speak as to why Henning was forced to join any band, but for any that disagree with his band membership, you can easily look at his last couple posts.

It doesn't matter who you are, how many posts you have, how many beers you have had with various MC members, or how much we personally like or dislike you. The RoC is the governing rules for the website and regardless of anything if it's ignored and violated then we're forced to take action.

All issues aside, I do like Henning, and would gladly be up for doing anything in person with him at any time.

In fact. I wish he would come spend a weekend in Nebraska so he could fix all the busted **** on my boat, teach me how to actually launch it without looking like a dumbass, tune up my jetski, and fix all the oil leaks on my Flybaby. I have no doubt he'd get all that done in a weekend whereas it's a continuous pursuit for me.

Oh yeah! Played with the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Helped them build their guitars and mod their amps. Also helped them evolve and expand their thinking. In short the later half of the 1960s culture is a direct result of Henning's input.:D:lol:[/QUOT

Him an Brian Williams!:D

I actually enjoyed most of his postings, I don't agree with him politically, but I enjoy the tales of the sea and his aviation ventures. I would love to have dinner with him and pick his brain, we actually tried to meet a year or so ago when he was in Atlanta.

Man, I didn't realize he was gone. I haven't been on here quite as much lately. I think the man is chock full of BS and chock full of knowledge. He drives me nuts sometimes, then sometimes he's quite helpful. He's bull headed as heck, but frankly, I think he's an asset.

The dude has some wacky a** ideas though.

What authoritative information that he had about aviation was depreciated by his exaggerated or clueless posting on subjects he was only peripherally knowledgeable about.
And this is different from the average POA member, how?

Henning is a Mormon!?:goofy:

A dyslexic Mormon at that!

To my humble opinion, Henning's issue is a microcosm of forum issues in general. What authoritative information that he had about aviation was depreciated by his exaggerated or clueless posting on subjects he was only peripherally knowledgeable about.

Yeah, Henning's signal to noise ratio was about 1 to 50. A person who has to chime in about every topic as an authority figure when they obviously have no clue of what they're talking about makes the readers suspect all their posts and they lose all credibility.

It's quite entertaining to watch actually and only because we now get less of that entertainment is the forum worse off since he's gone.

I think Timwinters summed up Henning almost perfectly. Does he have something to contribute? Sure he does, but he chose to chime in as an expert on every single topic to the point where any sane person reading all of this would have to doubt if he is an expert in anything at all. The signal to noise ratio seems to be very low.

I personally have nothing against him. I tend to skip over his posts unless they're one or two lines because I can't be bothered to read voluminous quantities of BS  one or two lines maybe.

He'd be a fun guy to have a few drinks with and hear some tall stories I'm sure.

Lovely behavior, folks, really.

Dr. Bruce, Captain, Henning, take your pick.

Let's just continue to run contributors off the board, then disparage them on multiple threads in their absence on a publicly accessable forum.

You guys are really special.

I feel like I'm being cheated of my turn to get lit up like the Fourth of July.

To a certain extent, you can say "Oh, that's just how ____ communicates"

I hear he wrote an article for them entitled "Airplane Not Selling? Some Tips on How to Liquidate and Recoup Your Capital".

That backstory and the associated timeline, didn't sit well with me.
