What do you have planned for the day? Do you do anything special for that someone special?

Too comfortable in your relationship for Valentines Day? :nono:

Get out and get a little something and maybe you'll get a little something.

Morning: Work job #1
Afternoon: Work job #2
Evening: (a) Grocery store while enroute home then do some homework for school
Evening/Night: Continue summer navigation planning for photography business
Late night: zzzzzzz

Hey, someone's got to blow it right? Might as well be me.

We're doing seven "Lovebird Flights" for Valentine's Day at the hotel today! These flights are part of our "Ultimate Valentine's Day" package that includes a night in an aviation-themed hot tub suite, champagne, roses and Godiva chocolates, a delivered breakfast in the morning -- and a 30-minute sunset champagne flight over Iowa City!

We had to scrub a couple of them last night (due to our little snow storm), but they are being re-scheduled, hopefully for today or tomorrow.

Ah, yes -- even in such a catastrophic economy, love is blind and money is no object! (Although, at just $300, I think our price is very fair...)

Us guys without wives went to the most important main street in town to play with the birds for a bit. I did a pretty good cleaning on the Aztruck, my friend got some stuff done on the Mooney. The Aztruck is looking darn near presentable, although after we washed it we couldn't take it once around the pattern to dry it off (no MEI or MEL). Bummer.

Also took the Jag for a spin and rinsed it and the Ford off.

An excellent day all around. Once I take the dog for a walk, I'm going to sit down and work on a few other things.

Told the chaps at the local EAA Chapter that I wouldn't be there for Young Eagles Saturdat, spent about an hour driving around looking for the right card, Tody I intend to make the wife happy. That way no static when she sees the aviation stuff on the credit card.

Cheers:

Well, the plan was that what little of Valentine's Day we actually had was going to be in the air between SFO and SYD (dep SFO late Friday, arrive SYD early Sunday - what happened to Saturday?). But, our flights into SFO were delayed and we missed the connection. So, we're spending Valentine's Day together in the RCC at SFO. Get out tonight about 10:30. Not very romantic, but what are you doing to do in a public place? :D

We exchanged the cards we planned on exchanging on the flight in our hotel room this morning. Oldlyweds, I guess. :D

I flew in some actual IR conditions up to Wausau. We didn't make it that far however. We were above the layer, and moved to VFR conditions NW of Oshkosh when the VOLTS light when on and we smelled an electric smell. I looked and we had the landing light, taxi light, strobes, beacon, and pitot heat on, (I guess I missed that on the cruise checklist, event though the 172 has no such checklist) and apparently the alternatator wasn't happy. We shut all of those off, and the smell went away, but we turned back to our home drome to be safe. When everything seemed back to normal, I suggested we fly and approach and do a T&G at Oshkosh so I could log an XC. We flew the backcourse on 18 with a circle to land on 27, and then flew the coop back to KUES.

On the way back, my CFII asked "what are we doing flying on Valentine's day? I said I don't know about you, but I had an appointment at the jewelers at 4:00, so I have no guilt whatsoever.

After two students this morning, I spent the rest of the day assembling a final "love package" of information for Immigration & Customs Enforcement. We have a site inspection on Monday morning for our SEVIS application. I'd have rather at least taken advantage of a discount on dinner by myself at Furr's. Fried chicken would have been better than coffee and a vending snack this afternoon.

At least I'm getting some BBQ tomorrow. :)

Tristan and I went gun shopping and then shooting.

That must be "code" for some kinda kinky stuff.
..and then after that we went and played laser tag...and then went down-town and had a few drinks....

The days work is finally done -- at 2:00am. In addition to the routine schedule, I just finished a set of instructions with pictures on how to overhaul a failed water pump for a friend who's 1000 miles from here. (Why do things work for months on end without a problem then break the minute I'm too far away to be around to help)

You should have went drinking first, then gun shopping, and then played lazer tag with the guns! :yikes:

Quite the weekend Jesse.

When are you guys getting married?
