Happy 70th USAF

70(+) years of the sound of freedom.

(I hate that I'm older than the USAF)

Cheers

Happy 70th USAF! Was at the 50th anniversary air show at Nellis in 97. Was a pretty amazing event.

Um ... 1947?

:)

My son is the senior pastor at a church here in the Phoenix area. Four years ago, at age 39, he joined up as a USAFR chaplain, going in with the rank of Captain. One weekend a month he drives six hours each way to March ARB to serve there, and loves it. He lives under the traffic pattern of Luke AFB, but March is where they sent him.

I looked up Luke's units, and there appears to be a Reserve fighter wing there. He should inquire about a transfer if he wants. Also a unit at Davis-Monthan AFB.
Thanks but he's actually very happy at March, not interested in a transfer. He likes the culture there, and the history of the base.

March is open to civilian GA traffic now, during hours that the FBO is open (basically M-F; weekends on request for a fee). We're looking for an opportunity for me to fly out there so he can give me a tour of the museum.
