I am not surprised that Geddy Lee has excellent taste in music!

It was generally a good list, would work for me, but I've somehow bjorked at one of them.

ok I am famous and forgot it.
When I was 18, I worked in a boutique veg/fruit market north of Toronto.
He used to come in and buy, um, food.
We were pretty pumped that the guy who vibrated the windows on the VW bug we drove through snowstorms to the ski trails on weekends was this same guy pawing over the pomegranites and blueberries.
How old was he in 1978?

Random fact:

He got the name "Geddy" because his grandmother with her heavy accent couldn't pronounce "Gary." Lee is his middle name by the way.

That's all well and good, but what are Tim Winters's favorite albums?

My taste is a touch more eclectic than Geddy's. In no particular order:

Rodrigo y Gabriela - 9 Dead Alive
Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms
Film & The B.B.s - Tricycle
Joni Mitchell - Court and Spark
C.S.N.&Y. - Deja Vu
Uncle Lucius - And You Are Me
Allman Brothers - Eat a Peach
The White Stripes - Elephant
John Prine - John Prine
Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers
Indigo Girls - Indigo Girls
The Cars - The Cars
David Sanborn - Heart to Heart
Blind Faith - Blind Faith (London, Hyde Park videography)
Rush - 2112
Béla Fleck - everything he's ever done
Keb Mo - everything he's ever done
etc.
Oh, and all of Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festivals.

Touche.

Have never listened to Rush. At least not on purpose.
Funny thing about that; when I was younger, someone said that my singing voice sounded like Geddy Lee. I listened to some Rush albums, and decided that I didn't like Rush, nor did I like my singing voice. More than three decades later, I love Rush, have a Neil Peart signed cymbal in my drum kit, and still hate my singing voice.

Almost anyone that spells their name the same as me is a quality individual. We are a rare breed. I guess I should check them out.
Sorry, Neil Ellwood Peart used the 'i' version. Still, check out some of the overheads of him playing drums. That's why I have a rather large drum kit—and I'm not a drummer.

It's the singer that makes RUSH unlistenable. Try comparing him to Robert Plant or Roger Daltry. See what I mean? Not even in the same ballpark.

In your humble opinion of course. Geddy does have an unusual, distinctive singing voice and can be an acquired taste, but some of us actually like Rush...

It's been 40 years and I still haven't aquired a taste for RUSH. Other bands I was hooked on the first note. Glad you enjoy RUSH.

I'm impressed you were able to come up with this list so quickly. If I had to list my favorite albums It would take me a while.

I love prog music. Growing up my favorite bands were Focus, Emerson, Lake, and Palmer, and Renaissance, and I dearly love Yes, King Crimson, and Porcupine Tree, but I can't get into Rush. Everyone kept saying how Neil Peart was a great drummer, so I finally forced myself to listen to some Rush songs and I have to agree, but I still don't like Rush.

Yeah, it was off the top of my head and I did qualify it by including "etc."!!

I've been detailing out cars all day, listening to my music, and speaking of etc. I can't believe I forgot to include:

Michael Stanley - MSB
Tommy Bolin - Private Eyes (Post Toastee)
Robbin Thompson - Two B's Please
Deuce the - Moma Let Him Play

and maybe my all time favoritest album...

Supertramp - Crime of the Century

Bands I have no use for:

Foreigner
Journey
Styx
ZZ Top (listen to their best of album and you'll come to realize that they only wrote one song)
Phil Collins/Genesis

And miss out on one of the greatest drummers of all time? Even had your name?!

RIP Neal P.
So yeah, turns out he spells it with an I. So he's a Neil and not a Neal. And then to make matters worse, they are Canadian. I mean, come on. I have standards.

Early Blood Sweat and Tears with Frank Zappa
“Child is Father to the Man”

It’s a Beautiful Day
“Choice Quality Stuff-Anytime”
(the album cover for this is priceless)

The Younbloods/Jesse Colin Young
“Elephant Mountain”
