Foreflight Web Beta !

You can speed it up a little by turning off the base street map layer if you like. SkyVector doesn't load a base map and uses lower-res tiles.
 
I'm in the beta and just started looking at it this morning. I don't think it's quite as good as SkyVector yet, but as a long time ForeFlight user, I'm sure it will be better soon. For me the automatic sync to ForeFlight mobile on my iPad is the killer feature. I don't expect I'll ever use SkyVector again.
 
Just got my invite today. It looks pretty spiffy... lots of potential. I signed up back in April (I think?) at SunNFun or around that time.

Yes. That's the way it does it. Just like the app does it (except for the Save v Favorite)
 
I too got the invite this morning (pleasant surprise) and the web interface sure looks pretty good and pretty much like the regular FF on my iPad. The zoom and redraw is nice and fast (much faster than Vfrmap, for example), METARs pop up by just clicking on the airport etc.

I assume they will be adding the other pieces that are in the app and not on the web yet, such as the other layers, airport info (not just METARs) etc.

Good web UI, will wait for future improvements.

In the current iteration, tapping on an airport that is in your flight plan will give you airport information but not weather. Tapping on a weather-reporting airport not in your flight plan will, as you found, give you weather but not airport info.
 
Minor nit - on the web, routes are sorted newest to oldest, but on the app, they are oldest to newest.

Personally, I think the app should be changed to match the web, but that's just my opinion...
 
Has anyone advised Tyler that we're discussing his product and invited him to join in?

Sorta like Hilton occasionally does for his product....
 
Looks like they've sped up the map tile loading. Seems to be working cleaner for me.

I think he monitors this forum. In any case, I've sent in my suggestions to the "feedback" link, so they do have them.

It does appear to be faster, which is nice.

I submitted a question a few days ago asking if they had a public bug tracker so people didn't continually submit duplicate bug reports and/or feature requests. They responded by saying that they have a way to track it so keep sending it in. I'm guessing that's because they want to see how many times certain features are requested or bugs are reported to gauge interest and to see if bugs are being replicated.
 
Just got my pass this afternoon! Looks promising so far, but I'll be interested when more functionality comes to is. Currently it's just something pretty to look at for me. Can you even move the flight plan over to a mobile device yet or file?? I've already submitted one squawk with four different requests. We'll see what happens.

Yep, I've done it. You can move them back and forth using the "recent plan" buttons. Works well.
 
Hopefully the live version will have all the functionality of the app. I just saw it for the first time the other day and was pretty shocked at how little you could do.
