The original "I don't know it all" of aviation.
If you haven't checked out this corner of the popular EFB in a while, L ook again.

We now have templates for CRAFT, ATIS, and PIREPs.

I use the blank one and the one for pireps. My handwriting isn't very good, though, and I do have to write big.

As anyone found a good iPad pen/stylus to use for this? Does the new iPad pen work in Foreflight.

I had not heard of that.. Will have to check it out. Thanks.

I tried using those templates when they first came out a few months ago. I just cant write legible enough with any speed. So Unfortunately I still stick with the kneeboard on IFR and cross country flights.

I tried using it and I also write too big for it. I use this type of kneeboard to hold the iPad and some paper.

I bought a generic stylus for tablets, and it works well for this purpose.

But just the same I don't use it. It's a hassle, and it doesn't help me fly the plane. So I leave it at home.

I don't use an iPad, but my issue with tablets and styluses is always trying to rest my hand on the screen. Doesn't work too well with Garmin pilot on the nexus.

Been using that for a while now. Was initially annoyed that there was a new button that had to be pushed to get the dang scratchpad to allow scratching. But it was a nice surprise what was behind that button.

Don't know about the new pen but I have benn using 3-for-$5 styluses with no problem.

I only use the blank scratchpad. I thought the CRAFT one was a joke because it's pretty useless for any routing other than "as filed".

I started using mine one hot summer day when I was copying an IFR clearance and discovered sweaty sticky fingers do not write well. Not any more of a hassle to me than a pen or pencil.

Thanks for the heads up. Haven't used that feature much but with the new ability to size the print I think it can be useful. I'm still a fan of my simple knee board.

Been using it for awhile. Initially, I didn't like them but have grown to like them a lot. I use both the ATIS and the CRAFT pages. The blank template gets used for reroutes and other misc. items.

Thanks for that. I must be back level a bit because I haven't seen it yet.

I've been using both pads for years now. The text pad a running list of squawks written in flight... Never erased.

The scratch pad for clearances. I use a dual purpose pen and rubber tipped stylus to write. My writing is just good enough to get the job done. At uncontrolled airports the clearance is captured during the climb. Everything else gets 'written' on the radios, navigator or EFIS. No paper on board, only the backup pen which will work on my hand if required.

In pre-tablet, pre-AP days I had a highly customized kneeboard with clips and stickers covering everything needed. Since I had to fly and write and map fold and etc all at the same time, thing had to be organized with too many backup pencils. At annual time, My mechanic would always hand me a few found in the Maule's bilge along with a stern warning that it was not good to have such things floating around among the control system cables and pulleys. She would be proud of me now!

Cool. Thanks for the post!!

That is a great feature, thanks FF team!
And it works in Basic subscription too which is very nice.

One day I might remember a cool feature I learned about FF this week and post it here for all to enjoy. One day, Alice. :D
