Comparing your FMS to these is an unfair comparison.
Probably true. But I've found a climb, cruise and descent value in FF gets me within a few gallons of actual most of the time. I've never had an issue.

What types with FF, though? When you cruise at 8gph and climb at 14, the odds of being close are pretty good. The jet numbers make that a wee bit wider with significantly larger numbers, so the FMS is a touch more thorough. At least the ones I'm familiar with, anyways. No idea for other manufacturers.Probably true. But I've found a climb, cruise and descent value in FF gets me within a few gallons of actual most of the time. I've never had an issue.

Does it all for that data at various attitudes and interpolate from there? Not sure what your saying FF is fully customizable for all fuel burns Taxi, Takeoff, climb, cruise, and decent.
So what will be your response to the investigator who wants to know if you are current and asks for your logbook?
I've got it here, but I won't show you?
Sorry, I forgot my password?
I need to save my battery?
As soon as I'm done playing Angry Birds?
Oops, I just dropped my iPad and broke the glass?
Wait till I'm done watching this porn flick on my iPad?
"Faxing" an electronic logbook? Yeah I know, print out and fax, but the mix of new and semi-obsolete technology struck me funny.Sorry I can't help you with that right now, would you like me to fax it to you later?

Honestly, looks like the Logbook app wasn't selling very well on it's own (it provided very little value), so they bundle it in with the more popular app and hike the price 1/3.
What are you talking about? ForeFlight has never had a separate logbook app. LogTen Pro is the only full-featured standalone logbook app, and it was developed by Coradine Aviation. Totally different company and different people.
That right there is reason enough alone for me to stick with MyFlightBook. If they change it in the future I may re-consider.One other thing...you can't export your ForeFlight logbook...so you're pretty much stuck paying them forever.
Electronic logbook for $25 a year? No dice. Paper is free, and the $25 buys 7 gallons of 100LL.
Sorry, FF. no $199 a year plan for me.
The $150 plan is still available if you don't want the logbook and SV.

Unless you also use your paper backup....
Only if you go digging for it...basic hide-the-option scam going on.
Also, can't use iTunes credit to buy the $75 or the $150 plan.
Digging?
It's right below the price summary. Hardly hidden. You blind?

That's only if you go to the webpage. Not available at all in the In-App purchase option.
It's not?
Tapping "in app purchases" on my phone brings this screen up:

Neither of those is the truth.Dude, Jeff, you're coming across on a crusade against Foreflight... Either you just hate it that much or you're a developer of a competing app. Either way, you can relax now...
That's not very nice. To some people reading the whole page is "digging". This is 2015 you know.Digging?

This is the first iteration of a logbook capability in ForeFlight. Like other features in ForeFlight, there's no doubt it'll continue to improve in time...especially as we get feedback from customers. Please send an e-mail to team@foreflight.com to express your concern/feedback.

Scott, the logbook app predates Foreflight. It's misleading to say it's a first iteration. Maybe a first integration. There is an enormous difference there.
If you have a product that you are charging that significant amount of money for ($50/year), it's reasonable to assume that it would have a full basic feature set...and data export is about as basic a feature as they get.
Like I said, marketting said "What can we stick in her to "justify" a 1/3 price hike", so someone threw together a half-baked logbook.

May I ask why? I can't see a good reason to leave MyFligthBook to be captured by a pay-for app. (Actually, I pay for the daily backup feature in MyFlightBook as a way of supporting Berman)
ForeFlight is continuously updating the features and functions. 2015 started with version 6.6 and it is ending so far with version 7.5. Each version had significant new features.

It's not 50/year. Why do you keep repeating that number?
Available from other products for $0.The haters can hate. I don't see any deceptive marketing practices here and I do see a very good log book. For me the Auto Logging feature is worth the price of admission.
