I googled but couldn't find anything. Anyone know of any place in Florida to rent one? I'm fresh out of my PPL and have about 150hrs. I will be getting my high performance endorsement in the next 3-4 months in our Club's 182. But I'd like to get a couple hours in a PA32(six) with their local CFI just to fly it a little bit. This is a plane I'm considering for purchase maybe in 2022 or 2023 and would like to fly one to see what its antics are like. I've got about 50% of my hours in a 172 and the other 50% in a PA-28-180.

Man, I just sold my 6/260 last month or I would have let you come over and fly it. The 6/260 is an amazingly capable airplane.

FWIW, I sold mine to buy a C310Q. I love the speed of the 310 but it can't carry as much as the Cherokee 6.

@Salty - I did come across that one as well. Same plane, just with RG I believe. If nothing else, I may fly over and check that one out. I don't know if the RG will make it fly much different (aside from being a little faster).

That's a huge bummer, I would have definitely taken you up on that. The 310 looks pretty amazing... and price-wise pretty amazing too. If you don't mind and have the time, shoot me a PM with any of the pros and cons of what I might look for or consider. Right now, I'm leaning towards something of the late 60's (price-wise) with a 260, IFR capable, descent avionics (not sure exactly what that means yet) but nothing over the top (I learned on a 1956 C172). With the 260, I gain a little usable load, loose a handful of knots, and the overhauls appear cheaper.

Do you have pretty much hit the nail on the head. I put a 430 in my six and it did everything I needed it to do.

I planned for 130kts at 14gph.

Hey Brad, thanks again for the link. I've got a reservation for this Friday and they talked me into going on and getting my high performance endorsement through them since I'm paying for the plane and instructor anyway. It's about a 1.5 hr flight up to Jacksonville in our Club's 172, so that's not too bad... plus will be fun. Many thanks!

Flew up there today Brad and got a couple hours in the plane - GREAT plane. Really liked the plane a lot! Thanks again for the heads up! I'm going to make one more trip up there and take the Six out again and hopefully will end up with my high performance endorsement and be checked out to rent it in the future if desired. So kind of killing 3 birds with one stone. HP Endorsement, Checked out in their plane, and confirmation that the Six could be a plane for us down the road.
