Perusing through Flightaware and noticed an Citation that was enroute here was showing up as ‘delayed’. How does that happen? As in, what has to be done with the flight plan for your pt. 91 flight to appear on flightaware as delayed? I don’t see it all that often, so I’m curious what’s going on when I do see it.

Because Flightaware automatically classifies it as a “Slowtation” therefore it always shows up as being delayed. It gets bird strikes from behind! :D

IFR flight plan and departed after etd

Seems like the obvious answer, but it didn’t appear that they departed. Just scrolling through on the airport page, it just said N12345 C56X delayed. It doesn’t show up anymore or else I would screenshot it.

At our FBO we monitor flight aware constantly and I typically see the "delayed" when it's gone multiple hours after the scheduled departure time and they haven't left yet. Typically that flight will fall off of flight aware by the next morning.

Ah, that might be what it was.
