First flight in our "new to us" SR22

Where are you based Bryan? We just brought our new to us SR22 back from Seattle in December. We are at TKI. Congrats by the way... Lots of fun!

Thank you.

My dad and I use a community hangar in Denton.
What did you transition from?

Awesome. Congrats on the new addition to your family!

I need KenJr to show me how he sets up his recordings in his plane.
This looks like I filmed it with a potato.

Holler at me dude...it's not rocket surgery. I use a GoPro mounted on the dash in front of the passenger at the widest angle possible and then my first nFlightcam hanging up by the dome light pointing straight ahead. I bought the GoPro audio cable from Sporty's (they are making like 500,000% margin on that thing...it's like $50) and connect it to the passenger side headset jack.

I use Adobe Premier to edit. It doesn't take long - would take much less time if you were using 2 cameras inside BOTH hooked to audio. I don't hang anything outside.

I'm concerned for everyone on the ground.
You are all sitting ducks.

You'll never get us all!

Very nice ride and you were almost in my neck of the woods. I flew into KOCF tons of times for breakfast while I was training out of KORL. I've flown over Jumbolair several times though never seen the 707 there. Maybe Saturday...

What's the hull value insurance gonna run? I was looking at trading up but got quoted $4 k on a 130k hull and was like, say what!?!!

Well, it is really high this first year.
Next year it will be 2800/yr

having completed transition training and x amount of hours, and IR all bring it down.

What are you using for an MX reserve? Heard Cirrus annuals were $$

if they are, then they're doing it wrong. Otherwise what's the point of flying around with a fixed gear.....:dunno:

Good to keep in mind that the CAPS repack is inching towards $20k.

Probably a bit less and even less in theory once the labor intensive switch to electronic activation is made on the first one.

Damn, that is expensive.
Ours was completed in 2014.

We will have used it way before it expires :)

I'm also based in Denton. And the Skylane hangar is nearly within rock throwing distance of where the Cirrus is. A few other PoA members are airplane partners of mine.

Is any one scared that 6PC is in a high performance aircraft? Those of us on the ground might need to be concerned. lol

David

I think most folks are scared of him in a low performance plane as well!

What does MX reserve mean?

Annual was $2900

MX Reserve is a Maintenance Reserve

Congrats to you and you dad Bryan nice ride!

With an instrument rating and a year's experience in type, one can get 1% of hull plus liability on an SR22.

Retracts are not that much extra work, annual requires testing the emergency system, the gear warning horn, and adjustments as required.
Cirrus being all electric probably requires battery capacity tests, inspection of the CAPs, and don't know how difficult it's to inspect air frame. It's not a 172
