First class medical with Hypothyroidism?

Hello to all.

I have been diagnosed with subclinical hypothyroidism, and it appears that I will need to take levothyroxine since my condition hasn't improved. From my research, I understand that this condition falls under the CACI conditions. As long as I provide a current, detailed clinical progress note and a TSH blood test result below 10 to the AME, I should be able to obtain a first class medical.

Are there any pilots in this community who have gone through this process? Is this situation uncommon in the industry?

Thanks!

Yes, I’ve done it, Bruce is right, it’s a yawner. Do your TSH and get the clinical update done two weeks before your AME appointment and press.

I agree, been doing this for years. No issue. I bring the doctor's note and test results on an annual basis (so, every other appointment), the AME thanks me and moves on. A complete non-issue.
