Ever wonder what it's like to be beat to death?

I am aware of shelters and the like. Are they sufficiently numerous to meet the need in your locality? I have heard anecdotally they are not in my own locality, but have no direct experience.
There are shelters and there are homes. A shelter sends you away every morning or every week or every month to find another place. When you are staying in one of those, you are still homeless.

I've actually seen that in a lot of people. I wonder why it is?

Well for me , dealing with people ALL day long , I really get to see how they act, think and react in their comfort zone. Some people make you wonder how the hell they survived in life. Severe lack of common sense , self centered or just plain WTF.

I see the decisions they make and how it affects them and the others around them .

Animals really do not have the ability to make those conscious decisions . Most people do.

Very simple, animals don't lie to our faces, don't go behind our backs; they're simple and honest. If they don't like you they stay away or bite, you know where you stand with an animal so the animal gets our respect.

Never owned a cat, huh? :-)

"I haven't eaten for days! Get up and feed me!"

"It was like that when I got here."

"The lamp looks better on the floor."

"I've never had that treat before!"

"I haven't eaten for days! Get in the kitchen and put some food out!"

This article might be an epiphany...

An article that claims the reason CEO pay is out of control is that sociopaths who hide it well, are in demand and there just aren't enough of them...

Interesting idea anyway.

(Makes me want to go work on my sociopathic skill set. Do they teach that at Harvard in the MBA program? )

Meh article. Look up the book "The Sociopath Next Door." I spotted that at the library a few years ago and read it. Spooky.

Unconditional love.

Find two cars; open the trunks.
Put wife in one trunk; dog in other.
Close trunk, wait 4 hours....Open Trunk
Note which one is happy to see you

:D

The difference between cats and dogs:

A dog looks up at you and thinks "you feed me, give me water, play with me, and tend to my every need therefore YOU must be god"

A cat looks up at you and thinks "you feed me, give me water, play with me, and tend to my every need therefore I must be god"
