An Australian pilot for Emirates has been jailed for four months for trying to board his plane while seven times over the legal alcohol limit.

He was arrested at Heathrow and will have jail time in the U.K. I think the penalty would have been a lot worse in the U.S.
As I recall, the Northwest pilots got years of prison, revocation of everything, and had to start again from hour zero.
Do you really want to take a chance like this when you fly for a country in region known for penalties like beheading and amputation?
