5500’ of brand new concrete. New airport that is not open yet. No paint on the runway. I didn’t land, low approach only. Taxiways recently finished, miles of fresh concrete.

Stopped at Haggerstown, Indiana last night. Gigantic beautiful 4000' grass airport. Sadly in a way no one was there. Perfect cool night light breeze and less bugs for a change. Airplane performance is coming back...what little it has. lol

fishing trip last week with my son to Lake Of The Woods in Minnesota. 10 planes of “flying family”, howling winds, daily walleye limits, and great times. We left central Michigan and flew accross the Upper peninsula and on the way home went down and around Chicago. Great trip, great times.

Trip to Michigan and back home last weekend. The way back it was the most amazingly perfect flying weather. Nice and cool and I don't think I hit a single bump.

Something that I’ve never noticed about the Ford Trimotor. The wing engines instruments are on the pylon struts. Oil temp, pressure and Tach.

I believe it’s original. Back in the day, the Tach was mechanical and it was too hard to run the cable from the engine to a cockpit gage. The plane has been modified to use an electric tach but they left the gage there. The pilot told me he sets power with the nose engine RPM and syncs the other two by ear.

Had an employee whose mother was a test driver I believe at that track. Said hardest part was that they sometimes wanted non-stop high speed driving without a bathroom break (fuel tanks were oversized I guess) ... said her longest was 8 hours ...
