And no pics from in between. Took a friend and her kid flying today, maybe he took some pics but seemed to enjoy the flight, asked very smart questions and flew the plane for a bit. We were all rewarded with a bbq lunch at JNX. It’s no pig but still a good option.

Peggy is still being held captive, so commercial will have to do.

Well that’s it for the 737. Only 6ish months on plane and about 230 hours but I enjoyed it. Last leg was STI-JFK with a nice 20kt crosswind. Off to the 757/767 today.

Very nice, do the bigger jets come with a bigger pay check?

Yea but not by much. It’s only a 5/hr pay increase because it’s not a true wide body category at Delta. My main reason to make the switch was avoiding Newark. The 73 does a decent amount of EWR flying and the drive was horrible for me. The 75/76 basically does JFK only with some charter flying out of EWR but no where near the amount that the 73 does. Also I’ll get to fly with my dad. He’s got 4 years left until retirement. Funny thing is,‘I could have upgraded on the 737 lol. Junior captain at delta is a November 2021 hire. I’m ok with swinging gear and doing the walk around for a little while:)

Gee... can't hold a steady position.?? :lol::lol:

Also I’ll get to fly with my dad.

My dad grew up in the late '20s and '30s dreaming like just about every other boy his age of becoming a naval aviator. By the time he got to that age he could not pass the eye test. He never learned how to fly. Sadly he passed away while I was away on my very first flying job, and I never got to take him up. I really hope you get to fly with your dad.

Yea we do Europe, South America and Africa out of NYC. At my seniority, I won’t see much of Europe except for on the weekends or holidays. Africa goes junior though. Most of the international I’ll see is the Caribbean, Bogota, Mexico City, and Africa.

They didn’t trust me on the 737:D. It’s definitely been a dream of mine since I started at the airlines. He didn’t take the early retirement package that Delta offered back in 2020 during Covid because he wanted to fly with me before he retires. Very excited for the opportunity then I’ll put him on my no fly list:)

I think you will be glad you went with the opportunity to fly with your Dad. My Dad retired from a career of flying for Continental, he did not go back after the strike, and finished flying corporate 727s. He also flew with me some in KA200, Falcon 20 and finally Citation 560. The below picture is us clearing the runway in TUS in the 560. You can see him in the right seat, he passed almost 3 years ago.

I never got to fly with my Dad commercially. He went with me on some trips with other planes. My Brother got to ride jumseat on his retirement trip. My bother informed me while crossing the Atlantic that it was his last flight. DL's impending bankruptcy had him quit a bit early, but Fed Ex picked him up as an instructor. We met up in odd parts of the world on layovers. that was always great times. Glad you will get the chance to fly with Dad. Amazing oprtunity, relish every moment, and take some pictures. Aviation is a very special world. The thrill of touching a DC-4 my Dad had flown many years ago, or working on a DC-3 that the Capt I was flying his retirement trip had a major mishap with some 30 yrs prior.
Maybe I'm just nostalgic, but its important. I'm jelous! Besides you'll love the B757. It's one of those done right.

Since nobody else has asked...what's with the little cabinet with the strings? Is it outside the men's room, inside the men's room and what's inside it?

that's inside the men's room and I didn't get nosey and look in the cabinet drawers. my guess is absolutely nothing. OR maybe keys to the jets. maybe I should have looked.

I drug @simtech with me and flew down to St Augustine yesterday to pick up a set of wheels for my car. Since we were already down there, we figured we would grab some seafood, then go down to Cape Canaveral for an approach at the NASA Space Shuttle Landing Facility. Another bucket list item checked off! Also passed 500hrs on the way back!

That looks a LOT like the Hickory Airport. That little museum is one of the best kept secrets in Aviation!

It has been a while since I have had anything worth posting, but these were taken last week on a couple of trips in the Phenom 100.

No 1st flight yet. Looked like they were waiting for a tow over to the far side of the field, where they've been doing hi-power runups in the past.
