Beautiful day to fly in IL. Checked off KBLV (Scott AFB), 3LF (Litchfield), and 5K1 (Palmyra). This was in the bathroom at Litchfield, and both the bottle and the little sign made me laugh

From my recent trip back up from Texas
Climbing out over Canyon Lake, TX. It was around noon and it was hot hot hot!
Goodyear blimp spotted at Joplin KJLN, the Arrow in the foreground.
Ozarks (Southern Missouri)
Cool view skimming the inversion layer @ 9500 MSL (I calculated DA close to 12500!!)
This little guy is my favorite cloud by far. Looks like they just finished a marathon and are raising their hands in celebration

For some unknown reason, it took me here...
We parked next to their bird dogs. That 310 was beautiful... paint was flawless. 
The fbo is chopping up some old Saab turboprops and selling the parts. It was kinda cool to see the parts laying out back. My boy couldn't understand why anyone would chop up an airplane.

It was hazy as a mofo here today, this morning especially.
Spent the last 4 days driving a living room. Voyagaire houseboats picked us up at KORB.
This KMAX was based there doing firefighting. The crew was out doing some maintenance this morning when we got back. The pilot was happy to show it to us and tell us all about it. It's a crazy machine. Two tidbits: the rotor blades are made of Sitka spruce and don't rotate in the rotor head like most helos... The have basically airlerons on them and twist when the airfoil is deflected by the cyclic.

Did a quick trip to Madeline Island (4R5) and Put In Bay (3W2) over the 4th weekend.
Approaching the Apostle Islands (pardon the dirty windscreen)
Base to Final Runway 22 Madeline Island
Camp site
Beach dayz, Lake Superior style
Saw this beauty land and taxi right up to downtown.
Quick side trip to Put In Bay. Base to final runway 3. I didn’t appreciate how short this runway was…
… until you are walking on the ramp and see an Eclipse parked there

Annotated it for interested parties: North end of Aquidneck Island (Portsmouth RI)...Bristol RI to the upper left, Tiverton to the right, and Fall River MA (my residence) off in the distance. Must have taken it a while ago; those cooling towers in the center of the shot were torn down a while ago. Great shot!

The home drome. Tower had the lights turned all the way up because the Envoy in front of me couldn't find it. It was blinding....I don't think I've ever seen them all the way up before. Thankfully she turned them down on my second downwind.
