Im at the limits of my sanity guys

All through winter these european starlings have been hopping up into the wheel well of my 150 and using it like a toilet.
At this point everything is caked in a layer of avian excrement that I have to carve like a wood doll ever 2-3 days I'm at the airport.
Was on the line with airport management, especially since the derelict old grumman behind me is a massive nest for them, but they shrugged and told me they already tried everything.

Ive attempted to plug it with some swimming tube's but the little bastards still manage to find a way in, since the strut web leaves too many small openings.

Any ideas? I'm about this close to eating the extra 100 a month and moving it to a hangered airport

You might wrap some mothballs in a rag, wire it shut and hang it from one of the engine control cables. Birds hate mothball stink. Don't forget to take it out before flying. Make a red flag that hangs out below to remind you.

$100/mo for a hangar is a no brainer.
mb, $100 MORE a month. another airport is 20 miles from me, but $230 a month for a little T hanger. current tie down is 40 miles but where it looks like ill be working for the near future. if this keeps up though im about ready to break out the pen and paper and stomach the losses

heard they hate the smell of peppermint too, might look into that as well, thanks!

You're paying $230 either way right? So it's $100 for the hangar. And if your experience is anything like mine, that 20 miles can make a huge difference in how much you fly.

Rig up a plastic owl with a suction cup or something and put it on your plane, move it around from time to time.
