Anybody know of a good independent mechanic or shop with small continental experience to reassemble/IRAN/overhaul an A-75?

Preferably TX, but will entertain surrounding states.

Thanks.

When you find one, lemme know.

About six months ago we called every overhaul outfit listed in trade-a-plane, internet searches, friends of friends and Continental Motors. Definitely post any shop that is interested in overhauling the Continental C-?? engines.

One outfit offered to overhaul the C-85 but, told us they are going to charge for tear-down and inspection before they order us a new O-200.

Ask Continental if they'll give core value of a C-?? engine in exchange for an O-200. They hinted that they may be accepting E-??? and C-?? as cores.

Last one I did was years ago and took forever to do.

Lots of junk parts out there.

Owner said it was for grandkids.

He was right!!

Texas is a pretty big place. Any more "regional" preference?

Not really. As implied above seems this request is becoming more difficult than in the past. So having a shop or mechanic located anywhere in TX is a definite win. All options in my multi-state network are dead or no longer work on TCM A- or C- series engines.

It has been a long time since I’ve done much of anything with an A65 or A75 but Poplar Grove was willing to overhaul one back then. If closer sources don’t work out you might try calling them to see what they say.
