Action was my first choice but they were booked solid. I think @NJP_MAN recommended Tom at Traverse Air. It ended up working out pretty well.

I had almost no ground for my commercial but probably spent 15 hours of self study.

Same, and I went for the checkride with the minimum 10hrs complex. Took me about 2-3 hrs to get used to flying the mooney then the rest was just practicing maneuvers.

I had all self study for ground. 16 hours in the Arrow IV before the checkride. Hardest part was the transition from the Cirrus to the Arrow. Really wish they would get rid of that complex requirement for CFI. I really don't want to fly that doggy, heavy unresponsive Arrow again.

Cmon for CFI? You're teaching you have to know that stuff. The Arrow isn't the only choice you know...
