College football 2024

Woohoo! Go GT!

GT really needs a more consistent kicker. Just missed a FG that should’ve been a sure thing.

Going into OT. I'll probably need an SI after the heart attack this is going to give me.

:cryin::sad:
Losing teams often blame officiating for their loss.
Officiating wasn't the only reason we lost.
But it was the one that was beyond our control.

By late 4thQ, both teams were getting tired and becoming a bit sloppy, but it looked to me like GT degraded more. I suspect Tech doesn’t have as strong a bench, and I’m sure King (QB) was absolutely whipped.

That easy missed FG early would have been the game. And yes, UGA got away with a lot of offensive holding late in the game.

SEC refs, SEC announcers, they know who butters their bread.

:yeahthat::yeahthat::yeahthat:

Too bad King isn’t also a kicker.

King was a hero and carried the Jackets on his back like a horse.

Unfortunately he couldn’t block while trying to pass at the same time. The offensive line really let him down during the OTs.

Georgia Tech has finished with one of it's best recruiting classes in program history and it was good enough for the 2nd best class in the ACC, behind only Miami. This was a tremendous step forward for the program and shows the trajectory that Brent Key has the Yellow Jackets on in the ACC.
Behind Miami, but they beat Miami this year.

Their recruiting class was also ranked #18 in the country. Not bad for an engineering college.

Go Jackets.

And yet we fill the stadium for every game and seats are sold out for over 400 consecutive games... I think yesterday was #404 or 405 or something. It is a pretty bleak picture, though. We haven't had a winning coach in so long it's just become a bad dream for those of us who were around when the Huskers could actually play football.
I really used to enjoy the OU-Nebby rivalry games. Next to OSU-ttun game nothing better.

I’m a burnt orange fan, but Texas didn’t deserve to win that game with the way they played.

Embarrassing.

Targeting non-call at the end pivotal and questionable. Exciting end none the less!

Blowing a sixteen point lead in the 4th quarter with such sloppy play was just inexcusable. I want the Horns to be successful, but they’ve got to get their act together.

I was cussing so loud when Ewers aired out that 60-yarder. No reason for that. Work the damn clock. My wife got mad at me because the in-laws are visiting. She shouldn't have had a birthday (and that of my oldest son's) during Bowl season.

But seriously, Texas did everything they could to give that one away. A very good friend of mine is THE most passionate Ohio State fan I've ever known. We were stationed together and watched the Fiesta Bowl in 2009 together. I just told him we can't be friends for the next week or two. If Ohio State shows up next week like they did tonight, we're screwed. If they show up like they did against Michigan, easy day. So long as Ewers doesn't pull some BS like he did today.

In the meantime, Hook 'em!

well, ASU also didn't exactly excel (how many turn over on downs?)

Targeting has never made much sense to me much less has it ever been consistent. I thought for sure they were going to call him on it even though it was obviously a result of the direction of travel. Maybe they (officials) felt like they had to give one back for the same non-call earlier in the game. Then again, I've never understood how a targeting call can be made when two players are traveling at several miles an hour in opposite directions trying to catch a piece of dead pig flying in the air at several miles an hour.

They should've spent less time talking trash and more time preparing. Based on the 4th quarter, ASU should have run away with it in similar fashion to Ohio State tonight.

… So long as Ewers doesn't pull some BS like he did today….
Ewers needs to play like he did against Michigan, not like he has since pulling his gut. I think that injury got in his head and won’t let go.

Week 1 he was convinced he was the Heisman winner & national champion and on the way to the draft. A month ago he was debating whether to walk out on Senior night or not or transfer or not. He’s sabotaging his own future.

The Rose Bowl, though has me wondering if the ranking system is total BS (The BCS system most certainly was) or did the Ducks just come in expecting the Buckeyes to lay down and play dead?

Penn State vs Boise State was the same way. I get this year was going to be weird because of all the changes, but some of the CFP picks were…questionable.

I think if Skattebo wasn't puking his guts out between series, the game would have had a different outcome. By OT, he was barely able to stay in his stance before the snap.

I didn't have a horse in the race, but that was a fun game to watch.

(I also don't have skin in the game)

Maybe skattebo should have had the conditioning to be able to play a full 60 minutes... I thought it was "interesting" for the announcers to comment on him never having played a 4th quarter snap all season.

But there are a lot of would-of, could-of, should-of to go around.
