Not much detail, but I heard on the traffic report they had I-75 closed for awhile this afternoon to remove the airplane from the southbound lanes; pilot was on the cellphone immediately after landing. They loaded the plane onto a flatbed.

Why in the world would they take a 152 to DTW??? Probably just another reporter with zip GA knowledge.

From the map there may have been one airport closer but there are only two bridges that connect Gross Isle across the river. If there was clearance for the plane on the bridge, it would have really sanfued traffic.
