I sense Bull *hit.....

I assume your wife (ED) and you have been to numerous airshows as you brag about your gyrocopter flying in airshows all the time...

(Ed), your wife, used a her "mom"voice to con some little kid.. You are joking, right.:dunno::dunno::confused:.

You left your hat in your whirley bird.. You should have retrieved it yourself. Be a man......

Is (Ed) there to make sure to go through your checklist properly.?:dunno:..

You are one excuse after another....:yesnod:...

Fly safe buddy... And don't kill (Ed) during your airshows.....

Carry on.....:hairraise:

I am sorry you missed the point of the story Ben.

I was admitting that I too had been responsible for bullying a cadet.

Yes, I agree; I should have retrieved the hat myself.

Ed likes to do things for me.

Most moms have a mom voice.

I find an airshow environment distracting and I feel doing the final preflight together has value.

I learned this from a friend of mine who had flown a lot of airshows for the military in an A10.

He had a nicely choreographed preflight with a helper.

Getting cadets to show up for their free orientation rides is like pulling teeth. Those who get all their rides frequently move on to a acholarship for solo-school in the next spring. For the most part, the 'old guard' gives their time on sunday mornings for the cadets to get their rides.

It's all about motivation. seen old fellers all dressed up in their 50 year old sage green playing airforce and never letting the young get a ride. They " give up" their time to play AF pilot and fly for little or nothing. I'm sure there are some that are sincere. The kids get tired of marching. They want to fly! Quite often they wind up as real AF pilots . I hope they get a chance to fly gliders. As for the young helping at airshows, they are doing what their elders have told them to do. If one has a problem, address the elder in charge , being careful, of course, not to mouth off too much. They are all volunteers.
