Inspired from another thread. Things that ya really wanna do but the only reason you don't, is it's illegal
 
Illegal? I don't do illegal. But now verboten is another thing.

I was thinking that POA should set up a "supreme court" of sorts where those that are always right in what they say, never back down, never recognize their error, or admit when they are wrong are the judges. These could be the ones to render the correct opinion(s) on various matters such as high vs low, tricycle vs tail, tractor or pusher, is Jerry a genius or a dunce, 100LL or Mogas, etc.

Any dispute among members could be appealed to the tribunal of the POA supreme court for a final ruling.

We just need to nominate some judges accordingly ... :rollercoaster:

Says one that has gone over 65 in a 65 maximum zone once or twice.

That bucket has a lot in it already.

Landed on runways with X's on them, 6 times, 3 different runways, did not get caught.
AWOL 3 times, never caught.
6 times a posted speed limit, did not get caught.
60 miles an hour in an active school zone, but that was legal!
Flew off the western edge of my chart for a hundred miles, and arrived exactly at my destination.
(Two railroads made that easy)

That bucket is deep, and well filled. Fortunately, I pick my times and places carefully, and there is nothing bad that results.

The MC here are actually very good at what they do. They are patient enough and put up with much more than I ever would.

Seems we have a few here that are above the rest and are flawless, their opinions are facts, and their facts are always correct. These obviously should be the ones to judge the rest of us ... o_O
 
I've always wanted to take an elephant to Florida and tie it to a parking meter without paying for the meter. ;)

Always wanted to break 100 mph in a car ... that was considered a heroic act in the 1970's ... then I did.

Bought a used 1970 Plymouth ex police car .... 440 interceptor engine ... certified speedometer .... got it up to 136 mph on a long straightaway .... then it started to porpoise ... worn out shocks and that big tin body was catching air underneath .... almost lost it but finally got it slowed down .... I knew enough not to hit the brakes .... had the Adrenalin shakes for an hour after that.

No desire to break any written laws. I would like to be able to break some of the laws of physics once in a while. Maybe the ability to change the inertia of things at will. That would be cool. My takeoff runs would be spectacular.

I prefer to think of laws, especially traffic laws as guidelines.

This is why I taught my Daughter values instead of rules. It is harder to do but you end up with a better person.

Yesterday I was driving my son home from school in our 2001 Jaguar XKR (his favorite car for now - I think the Cobra will win once it drives). He only cares about top speed so he was asking how fast it could go. I told him “probably around 170 or so where the speedometer ends, but I wouldn’t want to drive it nearly that fast until I went through the suspension since the shocks are original” and we discussed the importance of good suspension for high speed. He thought a suspension was only for comfort.

Car? I remember reading a test report that said the Mustang GT 5.0 Coyote I used to own had a speed limiter at 147. Verified!

Bike? Bake in the day 1998 Honda CBR1100XX Blackbird, 177 indicated. The present GS has seen about a buck fourty five, indicated as well. The new Goldwing is supposedly limited to 105, but I doubt I'll do a test run on that one, high speed isn't it's jam.
 
That tax can get excessive if you combine teens on the insurance and a ticket.
No teens. Also being in a rural area and keeping a prominent attorney as a friend, so far I’ve been able to get everything worked out. If I keep events at less than once every other year, I am good. No points, so far.

The newer 2.3L EcoBoost Mustangs are limited to 121mph . . . which I verified in a rental (in the name of science of course), but it was still accelerating strong when it hit the digital wall. If you get the Performance Pack I've heard the wall gets pushed back to 155mph or so.

Yes, same deal, the GT was still pulling well when the computer pulled the plug. I assume it's due to some combination of aerodynamics, suspension, and possibly tire speed ratings.
