Interesting approach for a "member" organization.
Theirs or members?Their service, their rules, right?
But discord now equals hate.I’m more surprised how we approach discord, we decide to stop it vs allowing debate. It’s a member organization but you do have to stop at hate

Not all of the videos. Just one. It allows them to say they haven’t received any negative comments about the new hosts, let alone a couple of hundred people publicly unsubscribing.
For AOPA, a little circumspection might be in order.

Fair point. Think Elon has any interest in POA?Pro tip: Threads get shut down sometimes here also.
Only for one side of the discord. But discord now equals hate.

I think back then the science was even settled.Back in the good old days of chatrooms, I thought a lot of the hate and negativity were because people hid behind screen names.
I think this sums it upCivility is being lost.
There goes this threadI think AOPA has forgotten that children watch their videos.
Oh yeah, I forgot- kids are fair game now, too!
Are you new to the internet? Its amazing how ugly comments can get on even the most benign posts. I run the social media for my organization out of necessity, but have seriously thought about dumping it all.

If you say it enough times, people will believe it.People say all sorts of things in a manner that they'd likely never say in a face-to-face conversation. Fear of getting punched in the mouth has that affect on in-person discourse.
This is why I like living in small towns. If you’re going to be ugly there will be consequences. Forums like Facebook is kind of like bumbing from 60,000 feet. Are you new to the internet? I can totally see how that video's comments could add to the flames that AOPA fanned by certain, er, um, choices there.
Apparently just this one that got out of hand
Proof by Repeated Assertion. If you say it enough times, people will believe it.
Charming….

I actually don't care but if you make a decision stick to it and deal with it.What makes the hosts so objectionable? Is AOPA going woke?
Okay..?I actually don't care but if you make a decision stick to it and deal with it.

I think most were toward AOPA not the employee. There's nothing to suggest adverse comments were made solely by AOPA members... YouTube is open to all...
from an HR perspective, an organization can't allow the public to harass an employee without taking countermeasures, perhaps that's what happened here.
