I currently take 50mg amitriptyline for headaches, though my headaches have improved and I am starting to taper off from the medication. Will this impact my 3rd class medical exam?
Even if I have been off it for 60-90 days when I get examined with a form from my physician showing no side effects? I have only been taking the meds for 2-3 months.yes ... it is a non-approved medication.
One more thing. Is there anyone knowledgeable in this field I can contact about this question?yes ... it is a non-approved medication.
What guidance would you provide Anon so he would be successful renewing his 3rd class?yes ... it is a non-approved medication.
Amen.I'm guessing a lot is going to ride on what diagnosis(es) the doctor(s) have put into your records.
No matter what the med is prescribed for, or the dosage/frequency, if the FAA has it listed as a medication not approved for flying, it remains not approved for flying. What about 10mg taken once daily for IBS?
