American Airlines Bankrupt??

The truth is that AA deserves to go under. Not because of 9/11 and not because the competition went through chap 11. They deserve to go under because they are the worst of the majors with horrible service that has only gotten worse over the past 10 years. The reality is that the people responsible for this (senior management) will be fine and the rest of the workforce (not entirely without blame) will get really screwed.

I flew on AA from raleigh to london and back a month ago and I didn't see anything wrong with their service. In fact the flight attendant gave me a free beer. Maybe it is my fault that they went under. Sorry everyone.

I don't remember Jet-A selling for less than $1/gal ten years ago. Hell 20 years ago.

Average price was 55 cents from 1990 to 2000. It was in the 30-50 cent range in the late 1990s when the regional jets became popular.
