Funny story if you're interested.
I was in India for about two weeks, and ready to come home. I am very easy when it comes to food, very flexible, and no problems abroad. But after a few weeks of only Indian food, I'm ready for some good stuff.
I'm on the plane home (Air India Delhi-Chicago direct). The meal comes, and I am surprisingly pleased...before me was a plain salad. No curry, no peppers, no spices, just a plain salad. Lettuce, carrots, two small tomatoes, and a green bean on top. Awesome! Is that a little weird that they put a green bean on top of the salad? Not at all. It's India.
I pick up my fork and the first thing I did was pop that green bean in my mouth, munched it up, and swallowed it. Wait for it, now. 5...4...3...2...1...oh, $h!t...that was NOT a green bean! That was a raw, green chili pepper, cut on the ends, that looked exactly like a green bean. This is not good.
Two hours of tears. Hot, burning tears. Along with some stomach noises and discomfort. It was not one of my best moments.
