It gets worse when you are an airline pilot, and you are being screened for weapons that you might use to to take over an airplane, right before you take over an airplane. Bonus points because you are one of only 2 employee groups (pilots and FAs) that are subject to passenger screening, who, ironically, are the only 2 employee groups that have access to the cockpit in flight, and wouldn't NEED to bring a weapon through "security" to take over an airplane.
We've been through numerous background checks, our employment history is known for decades, and yet, we're the only ones getting screened as passengers while damn near every employee at the airport waltzes in the back door, unchecked.
Even more ironic is that the reason pilots are subject to passenger screening is due solely to the actions of, you guessed it, a ground worker committing mass murder (PSA 1771). You can't make this stuff up!
