I found out the hard way yesterday that if you go for a second medical within 3 months, the AME cannot issue it in the office. :(

I renewed my second class at the beginning of April (on schedule), and was trying to upgrade to a first class. Had to go to a new AME (old guy wasn't a Senior AME and thus couldn't do a first class) and now this. Grrrr.

Why does this rule exist? :dunno:

Also, I'm trying to make sure that the AME's assistant managed to get everything to them correctly - She's... uh... got some life experience but didn't seem particularly good with computers. But when I call CAMI all I get is the "We are experiencing high call volume at this time and are unable to assist you" message. What's the magic trick to get through?

The FAA and all is little a holes assume you are a lying deceitful human being until proven innocent. People that do what you did are obviously trying to hide something and need to have their application reviewed in OKC.

The same thing happened to me and I even used the same AME. I think he was more irritated than I was...

Sucks. Have you learned nothing on PoA about medicals? Never, ever go live until after you’ve consulted the AME first. ;)
Kent, ya should'a asked me.....

I didn't think this rose to the level of requiring a consultation... Or I woulda gone straight to you already, @bbchien! But if every medical requires a Dr. Bruce, something is seriously wrong at the FAA... And what are we all going to do when you retire completely?

Kent needs a 1-class?!

'fraid so...
