    Stupid pilot tricks in Colorado

Had two pilots almost kill themselves this week in the Steamboat area. The first put a yoke mount "map holder" (thinking Ipad holder or such) and didn't check preflight to make sure that it didn't interfere with full control deflection. The second ran out of gas....luckily while taxing after...

Well, it looks like I am going to have to take a rain check, I didn't get everything done today that I needed to. You all have fun and fly safe!

It sucks and it hurts but is it illegal?

They should have one of those things they have to see if your carry-on will fit...If you can fit inside this box, then you need to buy a second seat!

    Restaurants around Aspen

If you are looking for a really good sandwich or burger, I would recomend Jonny McGuires. It is a little hole in the wall place, but makes awesome sandwiches. Ask the line guys, they can give you directions. It is across the street from City Market.

Am I going to be arrested and put in prison for this?

I disagree with Rusty. It is a well known fact that non PMA'd TSO'd 337ed Field Approved door seals will spontaneously combust in flight. Therefore I would spend some time reviewing the "In Flight Fire" emergency checklist :wink2:

Proper VFR Radio Contacts procedure before and during a flight

I file a VFR flight plan for every XC flight I do. Of course I fly from an out of the way airport, with much uninhabited rough terrain around. I figure that if go down, the extra hour or two of SAR that flight service would guarantee (vs letting someone know what time I should call them when I...

Hobbies that compete with our flying obsessions...

Mountain Biking for me, and more specifically, Downhill Mountainbiking. I did a few races this year for the first time in about 10 years. A few pics from races, a pic of my bike (no greyhounds were harmed in the taking of this photo), and a cool vista pic of a normal bike ride near Grand...

What kind of Flying do you want to do?

Backcountry flying in a two seat tandem taildragger is what most captivates my imagination. Someday I want to build a Rans S-7 then fly it to Idaho and Alaska.

    Leadville, CO Saturday

We had a good flight too. Sparky the greyhound enjoyed his first flight. He was quite a star once on the ground too. He even got to eat a pancake! The leaves were pretty, but probably a little past peak. We had some rain the week before that knocked a lot of leaves off the trees. Below are...

Culture of theft: Ex-TSA agent admits he took almost $1 Million from PAX luggage

Below is a video of a guy who had a bike stolen. He saw it listed on Craigslist for sale, and went and confronted the thief.

Flying up in 67C (the 182 that is newer than Clark's car), probably bringing a greyhound along for the ride. Should be a beautiful trip with the aspens turning gold.

    Leadville Sept 29

Planning on attending. The aspens are turning right now, this weekend should be close to peak colors. Should be a great flight. Probably going to bring one of our greyhounds for his first flight. He does great in the car, so I am sure he will be fine in the plane.
