Correct. So's NWS. Might be some thermals at 79*, but not much wind: http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?CityName=Thornton&state=CO&site=BOU&textField1=39.892&textField2=-104.955&e=0

That'd be awesome (so long as it's on Sunday)! You sure you have the W&B for an 8 month pregnant woman in the back seat? We're closest to BJC, but can make it to any of the metro area airports relatively easily.

    Where's the FAF?

There is no FAF on an ILS.

Works for me, depending upon which day it is. But I'd probably need to bum a ride from someone (assuming I can get the wife's approval) as I'm not checked out in any planes locally - yet. Time to start on the instrument, it sounds like.

Easy enough, though, I suppose. Awesome, thanks guys! Now I just need to convince my wife that the big number next to the "$" is acceptable. Sounds like the RAID is going to be the most versatile choice for us, though. 1060 W. Addison St, Chicago, IL

    Best on-line flight planner?

I've always used SkyVector if I want to look at sectionals/en-routes on line. Very nice website, relatively easy interface, and they have basic route planning/weather tools built in. That said, iFlightPlanner has all that and more... (Other than the lack of Android support, and the fact...

    External hard drive ?'s

Those definitely look robust. And the prices aren't terrible, either. Have you had any reliability issues with them? Those Porshe ones look like they could be used as weapons, should your office ever be invaded by Russians. I know my toe would find one of those sharp corners in the middle of...

We have baby classes until 4 on Saturday. I can do something after that, or any time on Sunday. FWIW, the NWS doesn't make it sound like winds should be too bad Sunday:

    External hard drive ?'s

So here's the deal, resident boffins. I'm running out of space on three difference computers AND my existing (very very old) external HD. So I'm finally looking for something in the TB range. Looking at NewEgg it seems like the leading brands they sell are Western Digital and Seagate. Is one...

    Best on-line flight planner?

Funny you should mention it. I just got an email from him about 7 minutes ago saying they're working on building it in and he'll email me again when it's added. I'm impressed.

    Best on-line flight planner?

I suppose you're right; I don't know either. We have our in-house w&b program, too, but it would be nice to have something that I could use quickly on FBO computers for ballpark calculations without having to download our software.

    Best on-line flight planner?

Yeah, I suggested it. It might be a little harder to come by the data for, though (two variations, plus two supplements for extra weight/fuel for each). Or you may have just suggested yours first. I'll be patient. :) I added the Diamond I flew back in Virginia to my profile so I could play...

    Dream Air Museum Tour

The Military Aviation Museum in Pungo, VA. Very unassuming place with some AMAZING aircraft...and they (almost) all fly very regularly (read: every weekend, and often during the week). A definite must-see for fans of WWII aircraft. The Owl's Head Transportation Museum is way cool, too. But...

    Best on-line flight planner?

Oh. Hmm. Well, I've been on Fltplan for so long that I forgot that. I remember sending the email, but not the Duat part. I also forgot my Duat info. Likely it's in an email account that doesn't exist any more. Maybe once hey put the Pistachio in there I'll take another look. I do really like...

    Best on-line flight planner?

Aaaaand iFlight doesn't have the Piaggio in their database of aircraft. Game over. Fltplan wins again. :yesnod:

    Best on-line flight planner?

I'm most of the way through registration (I entered about two dozen airports into the favorite airports list). Requiring a Duats account is kind of a killer for me. Fltplan does the filing without needing yet ANOTHER subscription/password to remember. That and the lack of Android support...

    Best on-line flight planner?

I've used fltplan.com for years. In fact, it's what my entire company uses for our filing/fuel planning/etc. It takes a little getting used to in order to find everything on the page, but once you learn it I really like it. Accessible anywhere, quick to put together and file a flight plan; I...

[av] Do FOs actually say ...

I've never done it, but I think I might start. If for no other reason than it would be funny and obnoxious. Most CVRs these days are digital, vs the old tape style, thus hold much much more than half an hour. The last few planes I've flown have 2 hour CVRs and 25 hour FDRs (vs 30mins/5hrs?)...

    Wheeee! 180@45

 Unfortunately mayo on dark navy pants is almost worse than ketchup on a bright white shirt... PIREP, however - the Lightspeed Zulu mic works great even dunked in mayo (and wiped off).

Math is not her strong suit

I suspect you're right. I suspect we'd also break several rules of conduct on here if she posted videos to confirm that.
