    I flew a helicopter - and LIVED!

We did one auto. Not full down, but enough to get a feel for it. Honestly I think the Robinson was better composed during it than the ENG Jetranger I used to back seat in. Then again maybe it's just because I'm older now and have scared myself in airplanes enough that it's not as eye opening any...

    Shot some approaches

That 210 kt restriction is interesting. It's on the Jepps, too: I wonder if they meant at or less than 210; that's a pretty high restriction. It looks like it's JUST inside the Bravo, though: So no irregularity with the >200, other than how are most piston singles supposed to...

    I flew a helicopter - and LIVED!

The video proof: The story: This past summer someone on here pointed out a deal on TravelZoo for 50% off a helicopter discovery flight here in Denver. My wife, the wonderful woman she is, noticed that I had the webpage open for about a week and asked if I wanted it for my birthday...

    PIC Speed Records!

I have pictures of mine. When all you fly is turboprops, seeing 500 is a noteworthy life-event!

    PIC Speed Records!

    Ground speed, right? 387 - Beech 1900 Saab, I'm not sure. Probably 120 on a good day. 508 - Pistachio P-180 512 - Dash 8. I have a picture of that one somewhere.

    PIC Low Speed Record

Ground speed wise, I've stopped and backed up in both a Skyhawk (really windy day in Iowa) and a Seminole (mountain wave trying to get to, then through Banning Pass). It's fun watching the 430 in the Seminole trying to figure out what the crap is going on when you hover it.

    IR Rating Dumbed Down?

By any chance, did the author also write about how he used to have to walk to school, in snow, uphill both ways? And then yell at those damn kids to get off his lawn?

    Turboprop Lack of Noise

That's true for the 1900, and probably for the KAs, but the Dash actually turns MUCH slower (at least the 400 series). 1020 rpm for TOGA, 900 rpm for climb, 850 rpm for cruise. It is a very quiet airplane on the outside (as far as TPs go).

So, you think you can ride

:yes: That was SERIOUSLY impressive. Great find.

    Tarron Bhomas' website down?

Because Beech is in bankruptcy. No? Wrong Baron?

    Went flying with Teller Sunday

:rofl: You make me sound so mean, Clark! I know I left at LEAST the clock and the tach. For the record, Clark did an excellent job, in spite of less than ideal conditions (some environmental, some due to me being evil). Always a pleasure flying with you, Clark; I look forward to...

    Cool video.. Fishing.. Osprey style

Great finds, that was cool. I too was expecting something V-22 related, but this was just as neat.

Why is clearance delivery freq in IAP briefing strip?

 Seems perfectly plausible! FWIW, I should have said full time vs. part time towered. Either way, though, Jepp doesn't put it on theirs. Makes Chris' scenario seem quite likely.

Why is clearance delivery freq in IAP briefing strip?

Are you looking at a non-towered airport? Perhaps it's there so you know who to call to cancel.

    Question for the attorneys

I don't THINK there would be any force majeure here. They have used the phrase "voluntary" several times. That's not to say they won't try to make that argument, though, I suppose. Employee. I'm just finishing up dinner, I'll PM in a few. Thanks! Not all of the rumors I've heard are...

    Question for the attorneys

That's my thought, reading through the WARN guide online. Very open ended definitions. But I'm also legalese inept.

    Question for the attorneys

Regarding workers' rites and WARN notices. Anyone willing to PM (pro bono)?

U.S. Army seeks to destroy used Embraer jet, for ‘testing purposes’

:yeahthat: I'm 6'3", 220. There is nothing good about that ride! Not even the A side. The curve in the fuselage at the bottom torques the crap out of my knee. I've got about an hour in one of those planes before I start to get cranky. With the absurd way they're being utilized now, if you're...

U.S. Army seeks to destroy used Embraer jet, for ‘testing purposes’

I'm all in favor of just about anything that involves the destruction of one of those torture chambers...errr...ERJs.

Indeed it is. Much bigger than most people assume. Roughly the size of three houses, in fact:
