You might notice my original post acknowledged the EPA will establish the endgame. Yes we're expecting leaded avgas to eventually go away. I crawled out from under that rock today

    Swift 100R vs 100LL

Anybody know pricing of Swift 100R.. if not substantially cheaper than 100LL I'm not interested. I've heard our LyConisaurs need leaded fuel for valve faces and seats. STC's are being approved by the FAA and the EPA might start pushing the UL fuel soon. Opinions??

    If a plane were weightless...

Blimps are usually near neutral in buoyancy, so ascending or descending should not see a change in speed

    Compression too high?

Yeah, I borrowed a set of gauges once off home field. The orifice was large enough to show 80 over 80 all the time LOL

    Compression too high?

Yeppers, differential pressure test with one gauge showing combustion chamber leakage. Followed by a dual camera bore scope is routine here

Best plane for first time plane owner?

Well this won't surprise anybody, 150, 172, or a "Chokie".. Archer maybe?.. complex and high performance rating could be an Arrow or Mooney. After my 172 sold (in a day) I chose a 200hp Arrow and still fly her

    Flying with low/flat strut

Short answer YES it can cause damage. The oleo absorbs impact gradually along it's extended length. Certainly if you can be guaranteed smooth landings that would be great. I've heard of people using heavier weight oil temporarily to slow the leak down but it's a bandaid and you didn't hear that...
