    [NA] NYC steakhouse suggestion

The 'Landry's' chain has some very fine dining restaurants in their portfolio. I think ownership by Fertitta's group will have no adverse effects on the quality of dining. Del Frisco's and Morton's are among their holdings as well as the de novo Mastro's.

    FAA hotline complaint

That's how I chose to roll...but, unfortunately, my insurer stated that they will not cover me in a C210 under BasicMed once I reach 70. If I still am flying one at that time (just turned 62) I hope that the restrictions relax before that time comes.

    How screwed am I

Hmmm... not likely. I'm not a betting man but I'll take that wager....I've been there, done that, and have my cert.. Concerning AA/recovery meetings...you could do two in a day on a Saturday or Sunday, it doesn't matter as long as it is two per week. There are online recovery meetings that...

    Cessna Master Switch R & R

Removing the pilot seat is not a big deal, in my experience. Putting it back in on a S model... make sure children are not in earshot unless you have a helper. The thicker upholstery in the S model (I presume T also) stops the seat just short of being free from the rail when pushed forward. A...

Don't forget you have to be cleared into the Bravo!!

Not that L Eh, Louisiana. Oh...I misunderstood your post. YOU flew from FL to NC?

Don't forget you have to be cleared into the Bravo!!

Good reminder! I usually file IFR if I am going on a significant cross country so I always am cleared via their routing. Yesterday, on a long x country from Vero Beach to south Louisiana, I filed IFR to Foley where I stopped to top off and stretch my legs. The weather was so nice and I didn't...

    A REAL 6 seater

I have about a 3.5hr rated bladder and tolerance for small GA aircraft seats; most small aircraft have a better range than I do.

    IFR Routing Question

Chris, I fly that route often from IYA. I always get routed KAPGT LCH SBI VUH direct (usually going to LBX or AXH). However, once past SBI and near the start of the Bolivar Peninsula, I will get vectored. Same on departure. VUH is the first waypoint but I always get vectored over the bay then...

PIREP request: G3X Touch vs G500TXi

What navigator do you have? If it is a GTN, then I would go with the G500 and avoid the canbus used with the G3X. More dough but more capability with communications between the 275 and GTN with the G500.

    A REAL 6 seater

I just put a T210N under contract. It has a UL of 1600lbs and full fuel is 522lbs. This one trues at 180-184 kts on 18.5gph at 11,000’. Figuring 20gph for 3 hours plus one hr reserve (80 gal) I’ll have a payload of 1,120lbs. Probably knock the TAS down 6-10kts fully loaded. That would give...

Southwest Airliner Hit by Gunfire in Dallas 11/15/24

Wow...I just re-read my post and realized how far we have drifted from the original topic. Soooo...to tie it all back in... I don't get it that the youth of today spend their $$ on ammunition to be able to shoot at aircraft instead of saving for the future. There, back on track.

Southwest Airliner Hit by Gunfire in Dallas 11/15/24

I recently had a meal at an upscale sushi restaurant that is excellent but very pricy considering other similar options in the area. My wife and I noted that about half of the patrons were young couples, perhaps early 20's to early 30's. The all had the latest, greatest cell phones...including...

The "Back in my day" Thread

Funny....The kid's vehicle, a 1976 Ford Lariat long bed/extended cab, had a CB base station on the front seat transmission hump. This was thought to be a great way for my parents to keep track of us as we roamed the countryside. They weren't counting on how far we roamed. ;) Thank God cell...

    Insurance broker recommendations?

Yes, they are fine with giving an N number that is representative. Your agent knows that you need to determine insurability in make/model before you actually enter into a purchase agreement. I’ve done it for the 4 different models I have considered since I first entertained buying a plane.
