T210...Give me the good, the bad, and the ugly

The ‘new to me’ plane has a G500txi/GI275(backup ADI)/GTN750xi/GNS430/GFC500/GMA340. I’m going to add a smart glide switch, Telligence button, 4th axis for yaw damper, GDL 60 during the annual next month. The panel in N210SD:

T210...Give me the good, the bad, and the ugly

I closed on a 1980 T210N yesterday. I finally found one of the good ones after wading through some really crappy misrepresented examples. This one has been flying regularly and not sitting in a hangar only to be run for a handful of hours in a year. No corrosion found on a very thorough prebuy...

    wxbrief.com format has changed

I had to go to 12 hours out to get data to appear. Odd indeed. It is 'Decision Support Imagery'....perhaps they couldn't make a decision for 12 hours.

    How to ship something valuable?

Like mentioned above for small volume high expense items like gems, I have had them shipped to me USPS, uninsured (the seller was assuming the risk). The first time was from an emerald dealer (the one who was hired by Mel Fisher's group to place valuations on the emeralds found on the Atocha)...

When should I ignore SID NOTEs?

I've only come in on the southeast side over the bay and my vectoring has been minimal. They drop me low further out than I like but not too bad unless it is in the summer. I been in to AXH and IWS with little meandering.

Grumman electrical failure. Crashes into Cessna on runway.

Lectric brakes?? ;) The 'electrical failure' that was of consequence was within the circuitry in the pilot's cerebral cortex.

    Insurance Question

You might not be able to find insurance without first having your instrument rating. Even at an exaggerated premium, you may be SOL. That was the first question out of my agent’s mouth….”You are instrument rated, correct”.

    Lets make Friday 'Joke Day'!

Yup, I had a male/male 30amp to backfeed a generator into a main panel once the main was disconnected. I let no one but me handle that one.

Grumman pilot kinda ran out of talent at a critical moment.

    Insurance Question

I just signed a final sales contract on a T210, hull value $300,000. ASEL/IR, high performance/ 360hrs total/220 in 182/ no retract/complex endorsement. Assured Partners is my broker, 3 underwriters willing to write for 1mil/200k per passenger. Quotes ranged from $11-18K and varied widely on...
