I got into RC flying for a few years during a period when I couldn't fly full size aircraft. It was great fun and scratched the aviation itch a little bit.
As far as crashes being inevitable, I've owned six airplanes. Two I flew for a while with no crashes and then sold them because I moved up...
Gary, I deal with Penn for avionics work on our CAP planes. I'll check with them to see if they work on Century.
Edit, according to their website they do work on Centurys http://www.pennavionics.com/ac_maint_info.htm.

Had one run in front of me on a night takeoff a few weeks ago. Saw it just as I rotated and the landing light shined farther down the runway. Fortunately I was airborne by the time I got to it, but I don't think I missed it by much. :yikes:

Re: A question about the revised aeronautical experience requirements for commercial
For the cross country flight in question I have an instructor endorsement that says a BFR was completed as part of the flight. The length of the flight meets the requirements for the commercial cross country...
Re: A question about the revised aeronautical experience requirements for commercial
Greg, where are you getting that from? I must have missed it somewhere.
Re: A question about the revised aeronautical experience requirements for commercial
OK, so there should be some proof that the only occupant other than the PIC was an instructor? Can that take the form of any type of instructor endorsement? Suppose the X-C or night flights included a BFR or...
Re: A question about the revised aeronautical experience requirements for commercial
Thanks Ron. The flight was 12 years ago.
Out of curiosity, were in the FARs does it say that the instructor needs to make the specific endorsement about simulated solo?
The latest rev to 61.129 (4) (Aeronautical Experience for a commercial certificate) allows an instructor to be on board the airplane for the 300 nm X-C and night TO&Ls at a controlled field.
So a commercial candidate could meet the requirements by flying the entire 10 hrs either solo or with an...
Hanging out at home watching the Phila parade with the kids in the morning. Having about 20 people over for dinner, mostly family but also my daughter's three college roommates who are from England and haven't experienced Thanksgiving before.

Re: Thanksgiving Saturday Breakfast Suggestion
I'll throw in another vote for Blairstown. I haven't been there in awhile but it was always nice when I went there.
I'll be very surprised if it remains an airport of any kind after next December. There simply is no champion with any significant clout on the side of keepig it open and lots of pressure to close it an develop it for other purposes.
