I'll be getting on a UAL flight out of O'hare on Wednesday night :yikes:

Going over to my son's place locally and my other son is coming down from NC. We'll stay over night and watch all the grand kids Friday morning.
 
Tomorrow: Drive to NYC, see some friends, spend Thanksgiving day with mom.

Friday: Fly to San Francisco (commercial - blegh). See some friends there.

Monday: Fly back to NY.

Tuesday: Drive home.

Jessie and I had planned to trek hoe to Boston. A disc in my back had other ideas, so we're doing 'turkey for 2' here in Richmond. More specifically, Jessie is doing turkey for two and I'm keeping the drool to an absolute minimum.

Fly to New Haven, spend a few days with wife's family. Lots of little cousins running around for the kids to play with. I can wave at all the traffic on I95. It gives me so much pleasure!!!

Turkey Trot 5miler on TDay morning. A family tradition. I'm just going to take that one MIGHTY easy this year. I have nothing to prove!! Then it's football and food and naps. Yee Haw - my favorite holiday.
 
Just making an hour's drive to my sister-in-laws. So pretty much a family day for me. Mmm, I'm getting hungry already.
 
Spending the day at home with family. Mom in law will be kicked out of the hospital today and she said DO NOT take plates over to us, we will come to the house for the family gathering. Gotta love that spunk! Of course I'll be watching the Packers play even if it's against Detroit.

Hope to pick up my plane tomorrow, wx looking crappy. If not I'll pick her up friday and get some flying in this weekend.

If weather cooperates:
Fly the 182RG to Atlanta to look for a house on Wednesday, then to NW Alabama for family stuff Thurs-Sat, then a return flight back to Iowa on Sunday.

If weather stays like it is now:
DRIVE through the night to get to Atlanta with enough time to look for a house tomorrow, then DRIVE to NW Alabama for family stuff Thurs-Sat followed by an all-day drive on Sunday.

Let's see, the options are: 11hrs of flying ROUND TRIP or 29hrs of driving. I'm REALLY doing some praying to the weather gods right now. Anybody got a chicken I can sacrifice!?
 
If I had my BFR done, I'd be looking at flying home, but nah, I'll just suffer on I-20 for 3 hours.
 
all the kids coming over, I'm smoking 1 turkey and roasting another ... no big plans.
 
I think if you can get out before noon tomorrow (Wednesday) you might have an easy go of it. If you need to divert south just let me know.

Working until 2:30 and hoping like hell that A) we're early and B) the 3:25 flight home out of the terminal on the other side of creation is delayed. Otherwise, spending it at a hotel in Sewark while my wife is with her grandparents at the lake.
 
We're doing the double dinner thing - first at my fiancee's parents' house, then to my parents' house for a second dinner.

I'm gonna be one stuffed fat guy.

Actually, taking a quick look at it, the freezing level looks high enough that you should be able to just fly low (looks like MVAs are around 3000 where you are), which seems like where I'd start). By the time it gets higher, you're around the Nasvhille area, where it should be above freezing.

Note: not a briefing, just a quick look at the weather. It looks doable in the 182RG to me.
 
1. Pick up my mom at SEA this evening.
2. Drive to Vancouver (WA, not BC) Thanksgiving morning for the day at our daughter's place. Drive home that evening. Roughly 1 1/2 hours each way.
3. Take Mom back to SEA Sunday morning.

Other than that, no plans. And with the weather forecasts, I'm certainly not flying anywhere.

Yeah, it looks like it might be doable tomorrow, but notsomuch tonight. May try to make an early departure tomorrow morning.

Hanging out at home watching the Phila parade with the kids in the morning. Having about 20 people over for dinner, mostly family but also my daughter's three college roommates who are from England and haven't experienced Thanksgiving before.

Flying Friday.

Shopping in the city with the family on Saturday
 
Heading out to MI tonight, get a haircut and around on Wedenesday waiting for my sister's family to show up at Ma's, Thursday watch the Detroit T-day parade while eating egg bake and coffee cake. A little Wii with my nephew, big dinner, set up ma's x-mas tree. Shopping on Sat & Sun (avoiding Friday) Then head back to PA on Monday.

As mentioned in another post, I'm headed to SLC for T-Dinner with my wife's sister and some skiing if the snow holds up. Wx doesn't look too bad except right here where the forecast calls for rain and/or snow. Looks like I'll get the chance to test my theories WRT ice in such conditions.
 
Leslie and I are going with my Mom and her husband to Don Roth's Blackhawk Restaurant. Then on Sunday I have a LifeLine Pilots flight to Osage Beach, Missouri.
 
G'Ma D and I are taking the new to us coach to the eldest kids house for an overnighter, and will be celebrating the pending sale of the 24.
 
We are staying home in KS this year, my wife's parents will come up here. I've got my two youngest back from school last Sat. no delays! My oldest was stuck with Delta at Hartford (bad radar) maybe she can make her connection. I still need to be working at the shop on a couple Malibus this weekend.
 
Same as usual: deer hunt in the morning, eat dinner with family about 1:00, back into the woods until sunset, spend the evening with family. Almost a perfect day! :yes:
 
Family will start arriving Thursday evening. More will come on Friday, our big day for eating, and playing and flying together at the farm. I'll open up the aerobatic practice area over the farm and give rides all day (that's how I get out of food prep and clean up :D). We'll have a bonfire out by the hangar and sit around the fire on hay bales and cook hot dogs later in the day after the turkey digests and make s'mores, too. More flying and hanging out the rest of the weekend, too. Good times with family and friends. :)

Really? That's (pardon the pun) wild! I don't come from a hunting background, so it's always strange to hear someone say, "Hey man, Ima goin' huntin'" I don't have an philosophical problems with it. It's just, I dunno, weird to me. Not wrong. Just, different.:smile:

That being said, good luck. We have a whole bunch'o white tail in our neighborhood that could use a lead lesson.

Yep, it's been the same turkey day routine for as long as I can remember :smile:
I can understand how some find it strange, odd, different, etc; sort of the same way I find sitting around all day watching football (unless it's my beloved Volunteers). :D

Thanks for the "good luck", that is always well received. :yes: As for your deer, nothing that can't be resolved with a 125 grain Muzzy broadhead on the end of an arrow ;)

I'm going to my in-laws for dinner. My son is in New York and my daughter is in New Orleans. This is the first year that they will not be home. I hope they aren't too homesick. Actually my daughter works all day, so she will be too busy to be homesick.

I can remember numerous Thanksgivings growing up where I watched my uncles skin as many as 3 deer before dinner ('lunch' for you yankees ;)).
 
Since no one will be underfoot to drop wrenches on, whining about the lights being out or tripping over spendy hardware on the floor, I'll be on top of a ladder in the ceiling of the theatre by myself doing a light hang for the next two weeks of end of semester shows.
The resident ghost will be there too however she's pretty good about not knocking things over. Moving things around and playing mind games with me, yes. Breaking stuff and knocking me off the ladder, no.

Hey, someone has to work while everyone else is sitting around stuffing themselves....

The weather down here looks good, though it may be a bit gusty on T-Day.

The wife and I are driving up to Nashville to see my mom and dad and family. We considered flying but I am not night current and we cannot leave until after dark tonight and we want to be back Friday evening.

Oh well...no biggie really, it saves my dad from driving the 20 minutes to get us from the airport. It is only a two hour difference between driving/flying one-way, and actually less than that when you consider I will be 20 miles up the Interstate before I finished my warm-up/run-up and at the end of the flight I have to drive another twenty minutes to the parents house.

I hope everyone has a happy and safe Thanksgiving!
