Interestingly they were not making any new ones 12-16 weeks ago. I found one of the last ones for my plane in stock at a supplier.

I don't know what caused your issue but all I can say is from my experience I would not fly it again without a licensed/certificated mechanic inspecting it to determine if there is a bigger issue brewing.

I've never had an issue with the CHT wires. But I do go through EGT probes that burn off.
