As some may have read in an earlier post of mine, the spinner cracked on my AA1C.
The spinner is toast, and the bulkheads both have been repaired at some point

After ordering the wrong parts and sending them back, the STC states that my options are:
A spinner for an AA1A/B/C (plus bulkeads, with some modifications) or
A Spinner and Bulkheads for a Piper Warrior

I want to go the Warrior route, because the Grumman Spinners have a reputation for breaking, and because I can order new, PMA spinner bulkheads for it. But at this point I will consider anything that legally gets my plane in the air.

The problem I am running into is, I cannot find a spinner. I have called every parting out a Warrior ad on Barnstormers and tried the salvage yards I can think of, but I cannot a spinner for sale.

I know that the experts on this forum manage to find parts for some far more rare birds than a Piper Warrior, would anyone be willing to offer some tips for a novice on where to find a spinner?

Don’t know. But standby for variations on “where to find a spinner.”

I wish the composite one was an option, but no one actually stocks it and tcbcomposites isn’t marking any parts for 12-16 weeks.

Interestingly they were not making any new ones 12-16 weeks ago. I found one of the last ones for my plane in stock at a supplier.

Curious. So your STC allows you to procure 3rd party used parts for installation under the STC? Does the STC list the specific P/Ns you need?

The STC lists the part numbers for the AA1A/B/C spinner, and an engineering order for an alternate Piper Warrior Spinner (with part numbers).

Well, without those P/Ns will be a bit hard to see if any are out there. ;)

First rule of parts research/ordering: never order by model only.

EO for Warrior Spinner

Spinner: 35323-05

Blulkhead Assy, Front: 35323-06

Bulkhead Assy, Rear: 35323-04

Screw/Washer(18): 415 379/494 227

Aircraft Spruce sell new PMA bulkheads, PN 35323-012 and 587-330, which Piper lists as replacements for 35323-06 and 35323-04. My plan was to use those bulkheads if I can find the spinner.
Just to verify, would the STC EO, listing the older part numbers allow for the used of the newer parts?

Depends how the STC documentation is written. It's possible but usually any deviation from the STC instructions, i.e., P/Ns, requires a sign off by the STC holder. But considering you're looking for used parts I'm very surprised the STC allows for the use of used items to begin with. Any chance you can scan the STC certificate doc here?

You want TCB Composite bulkheads. Those will last forever. I bought mine over 20 years ago and they came with a lifetime warranty. You cannot beat that. They will have the STCs.

You are absolutely right, but they are not currently being produced.

The STC has already been applied, and the plane has flown with it for years. I am just looking to repair a plane with the STC.

My bad, from your 1st post I took you for installing the STC the 1st time. I’m still a bit confused though, why do you need an STC to install a factory spinner per your comment below? Do you have a non-standard prop or something?
the STC states that my options are: A spinner for an AA1A/B/C (plus bulkeads, with some modifications)...

As to the Warrior spinner, it appears that 35323-05 was a 1st run number per several IPCs I checked and that number has been superseded by other P/Ns by either a Piper SL or by Warrior S/N. So very doubtful you'll find a spinner in usable condition under your original number.

And just to verify, you have a AA1-C? I ask because in one Grumman IPC that popped up it "indicated" that a spinner on a straight AA1 as optional. Regardless, if in fact the aircraft has been previously altered per the STC and your are only trying to repair/replace the existing spinner you may still have some options. Curious, what input has your mechanic been giving you on this issue?
