    Cleared Bridge 9 Arrival?

Yeah now that I see the actual STAR, it’s expected altitudes so you won’t get “descend via…” Still poor phraseology. Should’ve gotten “cleared to Clearwater via the Bridge Nine Arrival, maintain (altitude).”

    Cleared Bridge 9 Arrival?

Well without a “maintain (altitude)” on the end of that, I’d comply with the altitudes on the STAR. They should’ve said “descend via the Bridge Nine Arrival” though.

Almost 140 hrs and still no PPL? Sounds like he may have had a medical issue and just elected to continue training instead of calling it quits.

Back in the day, malls used to be popular…and safe. The mall I went to as a kid looks like this now. Only 4 stores open.

Frown upside down made me think of another “back in the day.” We used to have huge toy stores including the one I used to work at.

The "Back in my day" Thread

I was watching the Blue Angel Imax special earlier this year and I noticed it’s pretty common for the ground crew (men & women) to have tats. Not really criticizing. It’s just an observation in the differences in culture today from when I was enlisted during the 90s.

The "Back in my day" Thread

I always thought it was interesting when my dad started working FSS back in the 70s, everyone at work wore slacks, a collared shirt and tie. Seemed like they all smoked too. When he retired in 98, the dress code was pretty much shorts and tshirt and hardly any of them smoked.

Don’t have a shadow box but have a love me wall behind my coin display. Really the only reason why I have it is because it’s in the aviation man cave and goes with the rest of my displays.

My brother had to explain to his son recently that he’s a veteran. Four years AF and honorable discharge. A lot of people mistakenly believe you either have to retire or have to serve in combat zone with the military. No on both accounts.

Southwest Airliner Hit by Gunfire in Dallas 11/15/24

Yeah stopped in to Houston area (Katy) once back in the mid 90s. Middle of summer and hot and humid. Horrible traffic. At the time my brother worked Sugarland tower. Guess they have a “big boy” tower now though.

Southwest Airliner Hit by Gunfire in Dallas 11/15/24

Nope. Clean air, low humidity, cost of living, low crime. Yada yada yada. It’s funny, he can’t stand it when my dad brags about north GA but all I hear is how great Texas is. I’ve lived in 6 different states, I don’t get attached to any of them. I will say this, it seems like general aviation is...
