Got a new Glock... Or so I thought...

I like my Glocks; my daily carry is a G36. For best reliability per Glock, do not use reloads. Factory FMJ ammo only.

Heading to Las Cruses tomorrow....what's up?

Nice thing about green chiles is that it can go on breakfast, lunch or dinner foods. Great taste that goes just about anywhere. The only McDonalds I will eat at are in NM, where they will have green chiles to go on your Big Mac.

For those who don't have ADSB......

I trust my scan fairly well, but still not as good as vintage Chuck Yeager for the more high performance type of traffic I share airspace with out here. The TIS is nice in my plane and I'm looking forward to an upgrade to ADSB for whenever.

    F16 vs Cessna 150 collision

I fly in/out of KSJT often where there are based several Cessna Citations that are outfitted with "F-16 radar" as explained by crewmembers. These fly for ICE or Border Patrol or whoever that hunts and tracks aircraft crossing our southern border, whether or not on flight plans. Looks like if...

When do you begin your descent?

Most often, abeam of the runway threshold while on downwind, since it is usually windy here at home. Really depends on how strong the wind is. If winds are calm, I might delay until the runway threshold is about 45 deg over my shoulder.

    Bifocal sunglasses

I had PRK on my eyes twenty years ago when I was 38. Really great procedure for my quality of life! I have gotten used to readers lately. Distant vision is still good but I really like some magnification for the far distance. The glareshield on my plane is pretty high, even with the seat...

    Memorial day

The Japanese initiated military action to begin their so-called "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere". This plan was to give them access to various sources of raw materials for their industries. Their government was dominated by the military, so they were going to accomplish this by force and...

    Memorial day

The last war that increased our freedom? Dude, any war. The day we become neutral like the Swiss or whatever and not support our like minded allies is the day our freedoms become unimportant. We are not isolated, my peace loving friend.

    iPhone 6+ or iPad?

Using an iPad on a kneeboard/clipboard with an iPhone 6+ in my shirt pocket; both running foreflight with the occasional text message. Hope my Bad Elf Pro will become useful again next month sometime. This works great for me!

Get the colonscopy and my vent.

If you have ever been near someone who gets colon cancer, you will see that it is a horrible way to die. Better be ready to jump off a cliff or whatever if you contract this common and easily preventable disease and end it quickly because medical help for it amounts to letting you rot from the...

    Nastiest airports you've flown in...

Any airport with its single runway having a paved width less than one wingspan. I'm used to it, but just don't have as much fun at these due to the ever present crosswinds. I frequent Skywest 7T7, close to my home drome, where the best part of the pavement is truly less than it's advertised...

    Southern NM in summer

It will be bumpy; less so under high cloud cover. Early mornings are best. Interesting old junk airliners to see at Roswell, if you ever wanted to land on a really long runway.
