Student IFR pilot has a Debonair C33A

I know someone with a BE60 and no instrument rating. If he can find insurance your friend certainly can

Drones, another one of those threads

Interesting. I would think that if I am holding an appropriate faa airman certificate, and my drone has a faa registered N-number, I should be able to operate according to the pertaining FARS. I think it is already a dumpster fire and I am jumping straight in haha. Hard to follow all local...

Drones, another one of those threads

I dove in and I bought a DJI Mavic Pro Drone. Spent a couple of hours to get the sUAS Ariman Certificate. And a half day with a friend who has been using drones for years for their surveying company. Really excited to try out some of the software for commercial purposes (free trials). My family...

    [NA]Nasty grass (lawn care)[NA]

I did time (at a golf course) in Yoakum County during the big drought a few years ago. One of the best kept golf courses I have ever been to. I suggest you find a country club or well kept course nearby and ask the course superintendent. They'll probably give you an ear full of knowledge and may...

For Sale Bose Aviation X $400 Used

yes, Lemo to Dual plug is the only adapter Bose makes (I believe). I have a generic one off of Ebay and a Bose one and I can't tell the difference. The Lemo headsets will still take batteries so with an adapter there is no noticeable degradation if any at all. I really like Lemo Headsets. I use...

For Sale Bose Aviation X $400 Used

This is a really good deal. Don't let the Lemo plug scare you away. I bought two A20's a while back with lemo plugs and they work just the same. Then LEMO plugs were installed in the front of my Archer and it is really great not swapping batteries around now.

    Okay... I gotta ask?

Because DEN-ABQ is a different experience than APA-AEG. And when someone says Las Vegas does that mean Las Vegas,NM or Las Vegas NV

Drones, another one of those threads

This past weekend my non pilot friend pulled out a DJI magic air drone and started flying it around. I have to admit I was totally ignorant to the capabilities of these things. The functionality, controllability, redundancy, and safe guards make them reliable and safe to operate by nearby...

    For Sale Bose X headsets

I have 3 Bose X headsets right now. One dude sent work at all. Considering sending it in for a refurb. I don’t think I want to “part them out”

    Multi-Engine training West Coast

Driving me nuts trying to find a decent place to get a Commercial Multi-Engine Add-On with instrument. Between wanting to book 3-4 months out, quoting 25 hours plus to complete, and school rules rivaling the thickness of the FARs, I have just about had it. I'm this close || to buying a Twinkie...

    Whose planes do you fly?

I have also found that renting outfits are so detailed in what you can and can’t do, it’s basically a new, stricter, Set of FARS. I am looking for a place to do my multi and there is an 8 page operating manual describing what, when, where, and how to operate the planes. Including but not limited...

    Whose planes do you fly?

Own one. In a club with 4. And will also fly just about anything someone gives me money to fly, that doesn’t happen that often though...

Anybody have any advice on how to deal with a hoarder?

Just went through my grandmother’s house and we found hundreds of wrapped presents that didn’t have a name on them. She liked to buy gifts for people even if she didn’t have someone to give them to. Everyone has their hobbies

    Fixed Gear Vs. Retracts

My buddies bonanza gets more MPG at 160 knots than my Archer gets at 125 knots. Gets way more when ran at the same speed. Sure costs are greater but fuel costs to go from A to B aren’t that much different

    Owning one of these

If you have a really big hangar and like to have people over, the gulfstream would be a great hangar filler. “Want to go sit in my gulfstream?” Would make a great place to put beers back. Nice day? Pull it out of the hangar, hook a gpu to it, and drink some beers. Forget actually flying it

    Pilot Egos

I think it’s funny if an airport has one runway with a 10 knot crosswind it’s normal. But if it has two runways and you take the one with a 10 knot crosswind (while the other may only be 5) it’s considered dangerous. When traffic allows and the wind is reasonable I nearly always take the most...

    Pilot Egos

Dude the other day took off opposite runway from me and started doing closed traffic. You could tell he did it on accident but I swapped to the perpendicular runway to avoid him. He lands taxis over to the runway I’m using and announces “taking off on the crosswind runway 23 closed traffic...

The dude probably lives under where the left traffic WOULD be. That would explain his sore rear about it
