ForeFlight Logbook - version 7.5 released

Yep, and this time they bumped the price by 1/3.

ForeFlight Logbook - version 7.5 released

Available from other products for $0. Myflightbook.com does auto-logging for $0. Even integrates with Foreflight flight tracks and does auto-logging from them.

ForeFlight Logbook - version 7.5 released

Because that's what Foreflight says it is:

    Foreflight upped the price?

You better hope they keep it around. There's no way to export the data, so your transition that you've made is one-way.

    Foreflight upped the price?

Wow, they're so fragile that someone pointing out how they hiked their price 1/3 by "adding" a useless feature is going to kill them? Seriously? If you don't like that being pointed out, don't read. It's a simple concept. For those who actually care about value-for-money, they can become...

    Foreflight upped the price?

And bumping your price 1/3 doesn't help gain market share either.

ForeFlight Logbook - version 7.5 released

If you have a product that you are charging that significant amount of money for ($50/year), it's reasonable to assume that it would have a full basic feature set...and data export is about as basic a feature as they get. Like I said, marketting said "What can we stick in her to "justify" a...

ForeFlight Logbook - version 7.5 released

Neither of those is the truth. I'm simply pointing out a slimy marketing practice. They add a worthless feature, hike the price by 33%, and make it significantly more difficult to buy the old feature-set. If you want a half-done logbook for $50, go right ahead, but at least you know...

ForeFlight Logbook - version 7.5 released

Funny...when you actually try to purchase you only get two choices though:

ForeFlight Logbook - version 7.5 released

That's only if you go to the webpage. Not available at all in the In-App purchase option.

ForeFlight Logbook - version 7.5 released

That's not an "export". It's also a feature that FF Logbook lacks that free alternatives like MyFlightBook have.

ForeFlight Logbook - version 7.5 released

Only if you go digging for it...basic hide-the-option scam going on. Also, can't use iTunes credit to buy the $75 or the $150 plan.

ForeFlight Logbook - version 7.5 released

One other thing...you can't export your ForeFlight logbook...so you're pretty much stuck paying them forever.

ForeFlight Logbook - version 7.5 released

Also confirmed: If you want to use iTunes Store Credits, you have to get the new plan which is 1/3 more expensive than the old one. Basically a money grab for people who don't pay attention.

ForeFlight Logbook - version 7.5 released

You're right...I was thinking of their checklist app. The confusion was all mine. Sorry.

ForeFlight Logbook - version 7.5 released

OK, so it's just intended to sucker people in then. Gotcha. It may be legal, but it's still a slimy marketing practice.

ForeFlight Logbook - version 7.5 released

Honestly, looks like the Logbook app wasn't selling very well on it's own (it provided very little value), so they bundle it in with the more popular app and hike the price 1/3.
  19. JeffDG

ForeFlight Logbook - version 7.5 released

However, can you buy a "build your own plan" from inside the app, thereby using your iTunes credits?

ForeFlight Logbook - version 7.5 released

OK, again, no need for SV, and they seem to think Logbook is worth $50/year. It's right there on the "build your own" page.
