Agree with hindsight2020 100%. I am taking my IFR check ride next week. But not so I can fly IMC to min. I will have high ceiling and visibility min. If I have to shoot an approach to min. I have screwed the pooch on my flight planning and weather briefing!

I have flap gap seals on my 182. They are metal. And really reduce the stall speed. And probably increase the cruise speed a knot or two.

Thanks for all the input. I didn't clarify. I am doing the thee day finish up course. I have all my hours, long X country, written test etc. I just don't feel I am sharp enough to stay within the check ride passing tolerances. Plus more training/practice is never a bad thing. Three days training...

Congrats! I'm in the same boat. I think I'm ADD. Just can't get into the study mode on my own. I start and stop and then start again. I have all the flying done, with exception to the X country prep. I think this would work for me. Did you go to WI?

Just remember. Everyone started right where you are at. I didn't find out until much later. I was my instructors first student! I think he had less than 500 hrs. Had him all the way thru ppl.

Congrats! What a great feeling and accomplishment! My dad soloed in 1972 at 15 hrs. I soloed in 2014 at 18 hrs. I think the planes were easier back then.:wink2:

Before going the credit card route. Sit down with you flight instructor and discuss your situation. If you can dedicate a certain amount a month towards training they/he will probably work out a schedule with you. I am never a fan of unnecessary debt.
