    Anti-Drone, Drone

Thank goodness for college students. What a great idea for when your neighbor's drone is ****ing you off. http://www.engadget.com/2016/01/13/michigan-web-firing-drone/

    Cat Herder commercial

Absolutely my favorite Super Bowl commercial of all time. This was published in 2000 and for years i used it in school administrator professional development because leading a school IS like herding cats. Thanks for bringing this up.

Is my instructor right for me?

oh, i have too many thoughts, but i'm certain others will chime in. 1. It's your money and you have total control over how you spend it. 2. Being a Type A personality is actually a good thing because you may be more in tune with your learning style. It's your instructor's job to adjust to...

    Oh, Great! A Winged Drone

Well, THAT and the fact that some drones are operated by idiots while birds have larger brains than some drone owners.

    Oh, Great! A Winged Drone

From the promo video, i looks like these travel higher and faster than other drones, so i'm hoping they're too expensive for the masses. http://appleinsider.com/articles/16/01/05/parrot-unveils-new-disco-winged-drone-with-50mph-top-speed-ios-connectivity

    IPads pretty cheap

And Walmart has the iPad Mini 2 for $199. Now, it's only 16GB, but it makes a perfect back-up iPad. I'm only keeping aviation apps on it and i still have room to spare. It's a much better back-up than my iPhone.

    Oh, THIS Shouldn't Be Happening

No. they were quite apologetic and offered another plane. i took the events as an omen and will fly next week instead. the plane spent the afternoon in the shop.

    Oh, THIS Shouldn't Be Happening

Tried to practice some touch and goes yesterday, just to feel more comfortable after being away for awhile. I started the rental, my favorite C172P with 180HP, taxied down to the run-up area, and did my pre-flight list. The plane had just been through a 100 hr inspection and i was the first to...

Press Release – FAA Announces Small UAS Registration Rule

well, they are collecting email addresses, so i presume they'll be spamming the slobs. Still, with hundreds of thousands of drones being bought this winter, i have a hard time believing they'll get many to sign up. I wonder if they would require companies to put a flyer inside the box about...

Items to bring on a long cross country flight

My butt hurts too much after sitting two hours, so i like to plan a gas/stretching/go pee stop.

    What's in your kneeboard?

I use a bi-fold kneeboard and mount my ipad on the yolk for longer flights, but place the ipad on my lap for shorter ones. Besides the pad of paper, which i write frequencies and TPAs for the airports i'll be visiting, i have a print out of both the 172's pre-flight/post-flight instructions as...
